So, what's the state of play then? Have you made any offer in the last week or are you still hanging on for bigger falls?

I have had an offer accepted on a house near the Duke of york. They took about 25% off so we went for it as it is a house all 3 of us loved and we eally are sick of renting. The agent was on our side and really helped us get it and said our offer was fair.No going back now it is such a lovely house but a BIG renovation.

My old stomping ground . 25% sounds good, should see you ok in this current climate.
Is it definitely the forever house? Does DP have anywhere for his drums? I was running past the one for sale in my road last week and heard someone playing drums and thought of you!
What's the latest on a parking scheme for the area - that should improve things I reckon .
Anyway, hope it goes smoothly - bet the buyer is pleased with your circs!

Yes there is a cellar and a workshop in the garden with power etc so thats sorted. They are planning residents parking which should pacify dp!We will not need to drive much there though dp can walk to work etc so fingers crossed. It has been stripped back to bare brick walls and floor boards and has a new boiler and re wire but the guy couldn't afford to finish it It is a forever house i absolutely love it full of fire places and beautiful; windows etc So glad we waited as we were about to buy anything as dp sick of paying 1k a month for this place

The house next door was underpinned years ago and although the seller said he had a full survey for us to look at to save the £ I had my own and it came back a nightmare scenario!Woodworm failed drains room in the roof and stairs dodgey My 40k budget to renovate would double so it was a no from dp.Back to sq one.Saw that one for renovation looks a lovely house. The other one is afriend of a friend they had an offer on that months ago for only about 30k off and they said no!!!!!

Sorry to hear that Noddy. I suppose while it is a major pita, at least you will get more for your money the more time goes on, and sounds like a close escape! Are you going to hold off or are you going to start searching again?

Can't believe the Blakers one refused an offer that close. Want to take bets on what it'll eventually sell for?

I noticed at Pride last weekend that Sandersons has shut up shop (Habens Carter as was), plus Family Homes in North Rd, plus someone said Bidwells in Patcham has also gone. Things just don't seem to be selling...

I don't tend to have much sympathy for estate agents, although we used David and Co last yr, and I hope they get by ok - they worked hard for us. Not sure about their judgement on the Blakers one though
