How many viewings do you expect in your first week?

WE have had one which has fallen through.

I thought the answer was to drop the price although it is already on very low, on my other thread it was suggested that the estate agent should be doing more. I am going down in about 20 minutes to ask what is going wrong and what I want them to do. What do I say?

Get your act together or you are off the case.

I don't think agents can do anything to change the market. Most people look on rightmove anyway. The telegraph today had eminent economists all saying inflation was going to be a problem for years to come and house prices would be one of the foirst casualties. But a week is not long I would give it at least a month

THe estate agents have made a few errors already, but maybe we do need to give them more time.

They put it on at the wrong price, turned up at the wrong time to take exterior photos, I was doing the recycling at the time, so bins out at the front and gate wide open and a hub cap on pavement! Rather than using common sense and asking me to move things she took it any way and drove off. Interior photos we are not happy with. One week after being on the market, no sign, no advert in shop not on website or right move. Photos always moving off right move. It actually has been on the market for two weeks but we don;t count the first week as they did sod all.

We can only market with them and have to give them two weeks, so if we give them 2 weeks notice I know they won't bother with the house so we will loose 2 weeks.

That is tricky although they will still have it on the web for the 2 weeks and that is where most people find houses now.

The market is soooo slow we've been on the market about 8 weeks and had around 2 people each week, I think the first weekend we maybe had 3.

We weren't happy with our picture of the front of our house (for similar reasons to you) so took our own and emailled it to our EA and they used it instead, could you do that?

Agree with noddyholder that if it's on the web people will find it.

We were told to expect it to take 2-3mths to find a buyer.

It has been on the web for one week, it took them a week to take pictures and put them on the net.

weve been on the market for 3 months, had 4 viewings. I am taking on a second agent when we come back from our hols.

south manchester area, btw, and we are trying not to drop the price too low yet to allow room for negotiation.

It is dispiriting, but fortunately we are in flexible positions with our jobs, so no pressure.

Hi, we moved house 18 months ago. The first agents we put it on with turned out to be dreadful. We had no viewings for the first two weeks. I went in to give them the two week notice period and they suddenly called me the next day with two viewings. Turned out they had phoned these people practically begging them to come and look. One couple had asked for a 4 bedroom and ours was three and the other couple did not want to be in that area!!! We moved to a different agent and over the course of the next 6 weeks had many viewings until the house was sold. Although, I have to be honest we had a lot of time wasters too ( ie. nosy parkers and 'what can I get for that price' no intention to buy, people too.

Have changed estate agents after the shop was not open today and the photos had gone from rightmove again.
