Anyone a budding kitchen designer??

We're waiting for designs to come through from the two planners that have been to measure up, but I've a feeling they might both be similar to the layout of what we've already got... while we'd be okay with this, I'm wondering if there's a layout we've not considered...

Outline is attached (not to any scale, but the measurements are on). Kitchen is to the left and dining area to the right. Hob is in the middle of the left hand wall and sink under the window (top left). There's a second patio door top right that got missed off.

Wants are - American fridge freezer, eye level double oven and island or peninsular.

Any ideas?

I do a U shaped kitchen on the left hand side. Have the fridge / freezer at the end of the top run, keep the sink under the window and then the oven in a tall unit at the other end of the U shape bottom right. Although I'd be careful of having it near the door so you might want a unit and then the oven. Then a big island unit in the middle - you could possibly move the hob onto that so you can face people at the table while cooking, or have bar stools on the dining side of it.

Oh that's interesting... I hadn't thought about putting the hob on the island/peninsular...

It looks quite wide so i was thinking a double worktop depth (or more) island unit with the hob on the kitchen side. Then it's safe enough to also sit at on the other side, not too far from the oven and gives you a really long length of worktop behind it.

I suggest you go onto Houzz.co.uk - an incrediblt helpful website with a great forum where designers and other members come up with incredible suggestions - for free in most cases!
I've had loads of interior design advice and have taken a lot of it on board. Its also quite addictive even when you're not planning on doing anything ;)

here's a option

F = fridge/freezer
O = ovens
H = hob
S = sink
then a peninsula

D = dresser / space for breakfast things etc.

We had a very similar room with awkward doors/windows and did this….

It works amazingly as a layout - lots of storage and surface space and husband can get to fridge/kettle without getting in the way when I’m cooking

Forgot to put on the drawing that the fridge is on the left at the top in full wall of cupboards and the dishwasher is in the island. Cupboards both sides of island too.

If it's only 2.69m wide there isn't room for an island surely? Why don't you see if Karen at OnePlan had any available spaces. She does design days and Mon-Fri times too. She's on Houzz.
Made a great job of ours a few months ago.

Assuming the measurements are metres it is probably not wide enough to have an island the other way round iyswim

Have they come back to you with designs yet OP? We are likely to be creating a similar space in our home after some redesigning and I'm not sure how best to use the space.

Still waiting on designs to come through... we have pretty much come to the decision that we are not going to be able to fit an island in (2.6m wide), so sticking with the peninsular idea (unless the designers can work their magic and come up with something we haven't though of). We have very similar to parietal's design above, but at the minute done't have a peninsular... and I think we will end up with virtually the same.... we had thought about putting american ff middle bottom, between the 2 doors, but not sure if it might stick out too much? Also now considering a range oven instead of an eye-level...
