Buying in or around Crewe - Which areas?

Hello everyone,

My husband and I have moved to Crewe for work around 1 year ago, we are renting at the moment, but due to changes in circumstances and the arrival of our first baby, we would like to buy.

Currently, we live in one of the estates around Bentley Motors, but don't know which areas we should consider.
We came from abroad and used to live in the countryside, so we would love a bit of green around us.

What are the best areas in and around Crewe for a new family? Are Middlewich and Winsford worth considering?

Thank you all in advance.

Sandbach is nice, it has the only Waitrose in the area as far as I’m aware. It’s also close to Wheelock farm, which is great for kids, assuming you have them.

@GenderApostate19 Thanks for the suggestion, and yes we do have a newborn son (I've looked at Wheelock farm, it seems great!).

I saw some properties in a new homes development called "Albion Lock" in Booth Lane, Sandbach, how is that area? Or should I look elsewhere?

Holmes Chapel is pretty nice, albeit somewhat identikit housing wise; about 20/30 minutes from Crewe by car or around half an hour on the train.

Nantwich also nice. Bigger town than Holmes Chapel (which is a big village really). Between Crewe and Nantwich there's Wistaston, which might also be worth a look.

Depends on your budget really.

I'd choose any of those over Middlewich or Winsford tbh

I used to live in Sandbach and used to take my little ones to Wheelock farm a lot.Back then you could stroke the animals and they had various activities which were all free. Wheelock itself has some nice properties, but I am thinking of older type houses
I know the Secondary schools used to be single sexed back then, perhaps that has changed, but still something to consider.
I recall Winterley being nice and very close to Crewe. I also used to go to Nantwich shopping so I think if it is not out of your budget it is worth considering.

Hi!

Sandbach and Nantwich are lovely although you may find house prices are higher in those areas than in Crewe itself. Lots of new builds going up in Alsager too if that's what you're into, but again, Alsager is slightly more expensive, although a really lovely town.

In terms of Crewe itself, the estates near Leighton are nice and also Sydney estate. Haslington is also lovely.

I have lived in Crewe all my life but will be moving to Stoke for work/partner in the next couple of months. I will miss it!

Nantwich or Stapeley if you can afford it.

I'd live in Alsager in a heartbeat. Lovely sweet place.
