Decent electric shower

Does such a thing exist these days?!
Due to install a shower room in converted loft space and wonder about going for an electric shower so we would have a functioning system if we had any problems with boiler in future and also wonder if hot water and decent pressure might be better as boiler is 2 floors down.
DP and I recall ugly units with piddling pressure from rental properties in our youth but wonder if the world of electric showers has transformed in modern times.
Any advice or recommendations please?

Ours is an electric shower by triton in chrome effect was slightly more expensive than the white ones like £20 more can't quite remember but well worth it still looks good after ten years ! . It isn't a power shower or anything but works well we have a head that lets you alter the flow . Recommended .

I've just ordered this one which I think looks quite smart. Can let you know in a fortnight or so how good it is!

An electric shower will never deliver as much hot water as a well-designed cylinder or combi system

UK electric showers have around 10-12kW of power; and a modern boiler has around 30kW.

Thanks for your replies
PigletJohn - as I suspected.
I think we may have lead pipes between mains in street and our house which need to be replaced, that might help with water pressure and we could also look into a pump.
I'm not looking for a luxurious bathroom but a decent shower is a must
