How good is drying function on integrated washer condenser dryer please?

I can only find integrated heat pump or vented dryers and I don't want either, for various reasons, so I am considering getting an integrated washer/condensor dryer (if they exist!) and just using the drying function. Please can anyone identify a good model and let me know how good the drying function is please?

I've had one and they work fine but it takes too long to wash then dry. I prefer separates and you can wash and dry at the same time. If you dont wash much or have limited space they're fine. Have you tried ao.com they have a lot of choice

I had a Siemens condensing washer dryer and it was rubbish. I now have a separate AEG heat pump condenser dryer which is hooked up to the drain (so no water tank to empty) and it dries anything perfectly in 1-2 hrs.

It depends on which one.

Not as good as a stand-alone. Better than a mangle.

Awful in my experience. Had an AEG one and could never, ever get anything to dry. I stopped trying to use the drying function in the end.

We have an indesit, it’s ok. Better than no dryer but definitely nowhere near as good as separates so I am glad we don’t need to use it very often.

I have a Beko pro and it actually dries! Our Indesit did not.

@FurierTransform what model do you have and how long have you had it please. I've read that the pump eventually gets fuzzed up with fluff and burns out quickly and that heat pump driers don't dry well, but yours sound great. Have you had any issues please?
@Loofah01 and @Tomatoandbasil - they sound great - are they integrated and would you have a model number at all please as there are so many when I search for those names. Thank you!

Mine’s OK. It’s an Indesit. Obviously it doesn’t function like a standalone dryer - you shouldn’t expect it to - but it does the job. I usually take things out when nearly dry and put on an airer.

I have a hotpoint washer/dryer that is 3 1/2 years old.

The dryer worked reasonably well for the first 3 years, it took a long time to dry, but would dry a half load in 3 hours and get it properly dry.

More recently it has been intermittently stopping and throwing up a fault code and even with really small loads dried for a really long time it is rarely fully dry. My DH has changed a sensor and also cleaned everything out inside that he can get to but it is still crap and I'm struggling to get stuff dry now the weather has gone bad.

We are redoing the bathroom next year and making room for seperates so no point replacing it as the washer is still fine, so we will struggle on this winter.

I have an integrated heat pump drier. I had installed in spring but have only just started using it as cannot set outside. I must admit I wasn't expecting much as there is barely any choice for integrated driers however I decided that I'd rather compromise on the dryer and have a good washer than get a washer /drier which generally have bad reviews anyway!

I must admit it seems ok the times I've used it so far and doesn't take as long to dry as I was expecting from reviews. I do find that sometimes the stuff feels like it is still damp when it's hot but actually once it cools down it feels dry!

Belated thanks @Tomatoandbasil - this may seem a daft question but you can just put a load on to dry, rather than having to use the wash cycle beforehand?

Yes it has separate drying cycles. The cotton one dries fully.

We have an AEG condenser washer dryer (that is linked to the drain too, haven't worked out if it has a lint filter if anyone can advise! Worried about fires) and it works really well, I do try to make the loads smaller as it isn't as good as our tumble dryer we have in the garage, and I never do a wash dry cycle, I wash, untangle, then select dry (enables quicker cycles too) but it does manage to dry within 2 hours. We only have one space in our utility, it's lovely for mid week washes just popping in in the morning and taking out and sorting at lunch not having to change appliances, but we do tend to use our tumble dryer on the weekends to rattle through it all quickly! We'd still miss our separate dryer I think but glad we have the washer dryer instead of us a washer.
