Anyone else waiting to exchange?

We've been waiting what seems like ages for one document to be returned at the bottom of the chain.

Wanting to exchange last friday but didn't, and didn't today either. Completion date is set for next Friday so we really really need to get it done this week.

Its just so frustrating having to just wait without anything to do!!

I'm also waiting for our exchange date. Our solicitor said our vendor still needs to provide a missing document - a Deed of Variation, whatever that is! It's getting really tense because our vendor is selling to us on condition we complete before 16 November. The stress of everything is driving me mad with anxiety. I just want a date and reassurance it's really going to happen!

Me too! Spoke to Solicitor & my estate agents first thing this morning. All paperwork there buyers Solicitor pushing for an exchange but I've heard nothing, zilch, nada 😡 I'll give them until Wednesday and chase again. I feel let down by my agent who I used to buy this house, I've heard very very little from them all the way through.

Yes, looking to exchange in the next couple of weeks. Though I feel completely lost by the whole process.

My solicitor is utterly useless. I have no idea if I have done everything I have supposed to or not.

Just hoping it all works out in the end 🥴

Us too! We were also meant to exchange on Friday but buyers ended up delaying us (after insisting it had to happen Friday!) It was meant to then happen today but they decided to query something at the last minute that has now meant it’ll drag over to tomorrow. Just so frustrating!

Fingers crossed for speedy exchanges all round.

Yep. Have signed the contracts on our sale so they're ready to go, but haven't even had responses to queries on purchase. Gah! Is very frustrating...

Joining in here!
Last we heard is, should be able to exchange end of month, but don’t know for sure as there were still ‘a few things to do’

I’m just wary how things will go if there are tighter rules re:lockdown (already in tier 3 Sad)

Also tried and failed Friday but got the call end of play today. It’s done! So pleased - it’s been a bit of a journey to get here. Good luck everyone. Hope it all goes smoothly. Just got to move now. Wish us luck on the final run.

I am and getting really nervous!!!

Buyers have organised a damp and timber survey tomorrow so I'm slightly worried about that- our cellar is damp but it's never been tanked as only used for storage so this isn't unexpected

Can't get excited about it Until we have exchanged!!!

Great news @Fennelandlovage!

Agree about the further lockdown worries. Our EA has been utterly useless as well, and our solicitors are bad at answering emails or phone calls. This is the worst bit of the process for me I think, seems far more frustrating than even the searches etc were!

I don't even want to start packing til we have exchanged, it feels like tempting fate for things to go wrong!

Jumping in here too!! We were supposed to exchange in September!! I think the searches have been very slow in being returned and have a 3rd party involved as I'm selling a shared ownership property!! Just when finally got everything sorted ready for exchange this week and our buyers have now instructed a survey for some random reason and the company can't come out for 2 weeks!! We due completion 16th Nov, and our buyer has to give 4 weeks notice so time is getting close!!
So frustrating doing all the chasing!!

Also waiting... the original plan was to complete on Thursday and won't be exchanging til at least next week at the earliest. More to do with our sellers trying to knock money off their purchase which is driving us a bit mad

Another one waiting too! It was meant to be at the end of the week but of course our solicitor has only now brought up some issues that should and could have been dealt with months ago! Grrrrrr. I’ve spent all morning exchanging emails and my blood pressure is through the roof! I think it’s sorted now but jeeeeeeeez, it’s so stressful!

We FINALLY exchanged yesterday, after weeks and weeks of chasing - our buyers and their solicitors have been a nightmare, our solicitor says she has never dealt with such incompetence before.

Removal men starting to load tomorrow, we complete Mon 26th. We should have been moved by end of August!!!

Feeling the blood pressure through the roof too!!
Mine just keeps getting worse - some paperwork which we need for our new build has a two week expiry date which will expire before the buyers survey is completed as the company couldn't do any earlier!! Definitely means completion is being pushed back further!!
20 weeks pregnant too so they definitely feeling the rath of crazy pregnant lady!!

Congrats to all who have finally exchanged. We’re being told it should be today now, but haven’t heard anything in a few hours now so who knows.

DotTheCaddy · 20/10/2020 14:36

@Stressme ours too! I actually had a missed call a while ago and when I tried to phone back (all of 3 mins later) she was busy on another call. Apparently she is going to phone me back but I'm not holding my breath.

Finally been sent the construct today to get signed and returned which I will do today or tomorrow

Damp and timber survey man said absolutely nothing to worry about so hopefully that's the end of it now

Its infuriating isn't it. All the contracts in our chain have now been signed its just this one document that was outstanding.

It doesn't help that my DH is being unreasonably chilled out about the whole thing and tells me 'itll happen when it happens'. I want it to happen right now Angry
