Finding Bathroom ware

My apologies, never know whether to post in Property or Home Decoration!

I’ve got 2 bathrooms & downstairs loo to completely refurb. Where can I get taps similar to these, and other brass/gold fittings but without the ££££ price tag?

Also looking for matching showers/loo flush etc.

Have trawled the web but still want to buy a reputable ‘brand’.

Tia

We had a similar project and found a brilliant company called Park Street Bathrooms, Camberley. No need to visit as they have a great website, very knowledgeable staff and excellent delivery. They do all the premium ranges and have a huge choice.

@TheDogsMother thank you for the recommendation. Are they pricey?! I don’t really want to be spending hundreds on a tap! Especially with having to do 3 rooms..

We bought a premium range and this company had the best prices for it. They do zillions of taps and the web site is good for filtering so might be worth taking a look.

I'm renovating a house and the plumber recommends bristan for taps and showers etc. I'm going with Carron for the bath and I'm not sure what brand the vanity unit is - the plumber sent me catalogue pictures.

Thanks. I’ve found some reputable brands like Grohe, Bristan, Britton etc. My problem is finding stuff in brushed brass that’s not mega £££!

Would really recommend going via local
Plumbers merchant or someone like that. They should have all the brochures. Did a couple of big refurbs recently, multi bathroom projects. I used a couple of national websites...,all with Queen related names....complete nightmare. They only staff the sales telephone numbers not the customer service numbers. Staff on customer service don’t really understand the products/plumbing. Yes they are “cheaper” but once you factor in the stress, cost of returning stuff, numerous phone calls absolutely not worth it. Go small, go local.

The Bathroom discount Centre have all the brands like Grohe, HansGrohe Crosswater etc - have a look at them . We got all our bathroom stuff from them.

We recently did our family bathroom with brushed brass taps and shower.
We went for JTP VOS taps and Lusso Stone shower - both been great so far.

@december2020 thanks - do you mind me asking price?

@areallthenamesusedup - tried all our local merchants, they don’t do anything brushed brass & tbh have been so rude & unhelpful!

It really depends what you end up going for.
We just went direct to supplier with Lusso.
Brushed taps start at 150 to 400. The showers are about 350 - 1k (if you want a full walk in shower with all the trimmings).

JTP VOS we just looked online to find the best deal. They also start around 150, depending on what you end up going for.

But I've found them to be a good balance between price and quality.

@december2020 do you mean you just went direct to Lusso? What is the quality like?

I really wanted a shower with jets - but none of the brands seem to do this!

Would it be okay or a total no no to have brushed brass taps but a black or chrome shower?

OP this is is exactly what I was going to say. They are very good at sourcing stuff, and they really know their stuff 👍

Can you recommend said Plumbers Merchant? As all of the local ones I’ve contacted have no choice whatsoever in brass or gold..

@Sunisshining12 I've been pleased with the Lusso shower we have! It felt like a massive upgrade from the electric Mira shower that was in the bathroom before the refurb which felt a bit plasticky and cheap.
I ordered direct from the Lusso website!

Though definitely as other posters have also said speak to your local tradesman as well! The man we hired definitely helped us with picking the right BTU towel rails and if I was unsure about ordering anything I'd text him a link just in case (he was ok with that). He's given us loads of genuine tips (where he hasn't benefitted from it monetarily).

Also he was happy to order any bits through his trade discount (where he had them) without mark up for him, so it saved us money as well.

Personally I think you can get away with brass and black combined but it's definitely a taste thing.
