Bifolds at front of house - colour?

Still at planning stage. Architect has asked us about windows.

There are (at the moment) 6 square windows at the front 'face' of the house and definitely a bifold as well. I like sage green but I'm worried that bifold in a sage green would look ridiculous.

If you're a bifold owner - what colour are they? TIA.

I'm not a bi-fold owner, but I would just raise a concern about all coloured frames.
They may be expensive to change if, in the future, you find you no longer like it or it becomes less fashionable, like greys and blacks are becoming now (IMO).

I assume you are well away from the road or pavement? I didn't anticipate how "on show" I'd feel with bifolds doors, it feels like being in an illuminated goldfish bowl at night, sometimes. I cannot imagine putting them at the front of the house!

Thanks both.
@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles at the risk of sounding a bit naive, what is the most common colour for bifolds? They're all grey or black around here 🙈
@MrsJamin the property is in the back of beyond.

That was my point really, grey and black may be currently 'fashionable' but in a few years they will be 'old hat' or 'vieux chapeau' as I believe the French say.
Changing the colour is not easy (may have to change the frames) so think carefully about having a strong colour. There are companies who can spray paint pvc and aluminium frames but it is quite expensive.
... however I do have a light grey conservatory.. Wink

We have varnished Oak ones, these were the ones I think. www.creativedoorsdirect.co.uk/#icon-ourdoors

They're brilliant, thoroughly recommend and really good value.

@MrsJamin they look lovely alas DH doesn't want wood. He took on the maintenance of our old wood windows and hated every brush stroke. He vowed never to have wood again!

We got white aluminium in our current (rear) extension. I think grey and black are ageing badly and will be unappealing & dated in under a decade. Ours have a 25 year guarantee so I decided classic white was the way to go! Best of luck :)
