I'm thinking of switching to Bulb from Good Energy but just want to check what they're like first!

They’re good but not the cheapest.

Been with them 4 years. No problems. Easy app

We do. I think they're really good. Good customer service, easy app to input readings and easy to understand bills.

(If you decide to move, I've got a referral code)

I've been with them for years but I'm in the process of moving to Octopus. Contacting them when there is an issue is not easy. The live chat is painfully slow so I ended up giving up.
Octopus have a very good reputation.

I'm about to switch away from them because they want to increase our DD by £25 a month.

We were with bulb just switching to Octopus as they suddenly decided I need to pay £20 more saying electricity costs have increased.

Me but they've just whacked my bills up so am about to switch!

They are putting up their prices but have been very good

I like Octopus. Give monthly readings and get an up to date bill afterwards so you always know your up to date balance.

//share.octopus.energy/aqua-race-453 - if anyone wants £50 off their bill after signing up

I had heard bulb was The Place. Interesting.

Bulb wanted to put our DD up as well, but I had a look and figured out how much we use, and we are within that. So I declined the increase. I'll keep an eye on it, but don't think we'll need to increase the DD even with the small increase in prices.

I have used them for about 2 years, I have been paying £50 in total a month for a 2 bed, new build, that is for gas & electric.

They are putting my bill up to £66.00 for the winter, then reviewing it again.

If you sign up through my link,

//www.bulb.me/sdc0660

We get a £50.00 credit each if you take out gas & electric with them or £25.00 if you just have either gas or electric.

I have always found them very easy to liaise with.

We've used Bulb for years and never had a problem but need to check with DH (he's their first point of contact) if our bills are increasing after reading this.

We have found them easy to reach and speak to when necessary.

MaidenMotherCrone I have emailed them before, to request a refund of my credit, and they usually reply within the hour, to say "all done"

Might be easier than live chat, but I suppose not if its something tricky.

And with Octopus you can change your direct debit payment online if you feel your current amount is not enough/too much. I reduced mine as I had a large credit balance

I've been with them for over a year; I also got an email about a price increase but also to increase my DD because of winter. I emailed back to say I don't agree that I need to, they accepted it with just an advice to keep an eye on it. Been happy with them so far.

I'm with Bulb. No problems. Like PPs they recently wanted to increase my direct debit. I emailed them to refuse because i have plenty of credit and they replied within a couple of days agreeing with me.

I’m also with them. Have found them fine so far but like PP they want to increase my DD even though I have credit on the account so worth keeping an eye on. They’re planning to take my meter readings remotely so that should be handy.

Here’s my referral if anyone is interested: //www.bulb.me/gracea2842?utm_campaign=account-referral-share&utm_medium=copy-link&utm_source=copy-button

Was with Bulb. They recently wanted to put up our DD by £20 a month so just switched to SO energy. A slightly more expensive standing charge but cheaper per KW which will work out better for us.

Thank you, everyone. We have just had second generation smartmeter installed - this shouldn't cause a problem?

Just in the process of switching away from Bulb because of their big increase in prices, disappointed as I thought they were very good to deal with.

Man I really wish admin would ban those sodden referral codes.

I like Bulb, I was upset that they tried to increase my payments by £50 a month but when they then looked at my budget they realised I couldn't afford £120 a month and they have agreed to keep it as it was

MSE's Cheap Energy club tells me I can save £75 per year by switching from Bulb. They have been so good for the last couple of years that I don't think £75 is enough to make me move. If the saving sum increases, I'll think again. Compared with EDF they have been a walk in the park!

wizzler · 26/09/2020 19:59

I've been with them 2 years and really impressed. They recommended a big home in my direct debit but I did my own calc and while it increased it wasn't by as much as they estimated it would. Been informed that their prices are increasing so i may have a look round but reluctant to move as they are so easy to deal with
