Completion dates don't match up

Hi everyone,

This is a bit of a niche situation that I wondered if anyone can advise on.

We're expecting a completion date on our current sale within the next few days but know we won't be able to get this to coincide with the completion date for our new property. There are lots of (partially Covid related) reasons for this that mean we cannot ask our buyer to delay so that we can move straight from our current property into our new one. We are trying to work out if there is anything else we can do to avoid 2x moving van costs with storage costs for the interim period which is likely to be less than a month. I don't think there is but thought it worth asking the hive as you're all super helpful.

If anyone has experience of this or has any suggestions please say and thank you in advance

I’ve stored stuff in the new house before I completed but it was very risky! The sellers had an empty garage.

I'm looking at removals companies at the minute and I've found a few that store fir these kinds of circumstances- for not a lot more depending on timeframe.

yes, removals can store in vans which is cheaper than hiring a unit yourself, but you'd have to choose a big company.
