Going into rental

Hello,

I feel like I might be getting ahead of myself but I'm just so panicked at the moment I can't talk myself down...

So I'm a single mum and I've accepted an offer on my current house, all is going well and am in the process of sorting solicitor paperwork (wahoo and touch wood nothing goes wrong!). However, I've been to a view some properties that would be my 'next step up' within my price range and have come away feeling so deflated. If we do go into a rental because we don't find anywhere, will this impact my ability to get a mortgage again? Has anyone been in a similar position? Dd will find it very hard and I worry about the impact of it all on her. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance really.

I've got everything crossed that my dream house finds its way on to the market within the next week, I don't even have a big list of requirements really!

Going into rental is more upheaval. However, it will make you chain-free which sellers will find attractive. It doesn’t make any difference to getting a mortgage in a few months or whenever you find a house as long as your income/employment doesn’t change and you’ve still got the deposit to put down.

Thank you so much. That does make good sense. There shouldn't be any change in my employment so if the right property doesn't come up I guess it's an option. It's all so overwhelming!
