kitchen diner flooring

Looking for a recommendation for kitchen/ diner flooring from someone who has had it down for 5 to 10 years in a household with muddy dogs and many muddy boots, where it still looks good and is low maintenance .We have under floor heating so I can't have reclaimed oak floors which is what I really want because they just look better the more battered they get! Any tried and tested floors / colours (I know from experience solid colours show dirt more!) would be really helpful. Thankyou mumsnet

Engineered wood? Get one with a thick layer of oak on top.
