Cheaper kitchen or buy out right?

I've selected a new kitchen with all the bells and whistles (c. 15k) and was intent on financing it, however for various reasons my finance application has been rejected.

I won't go into why but what I will say is I didn't need the credit but thought it was good to take advantage of (interest free).

I can afford to buy the kitchen out right and I won't be short on cash

Should I go for a cheaper kitchen or just buy it out right?

Was the kitchen price higher because it was assumed you would get interest free finance? If so you might as well go with a cheaper supplier if you can get a similar quality kitchen for cheaper.

Or do you mean should you go choose a cheaper, lower quality kitchen? Depends on so many things like house value, how long you intend to stay, your financial situation etc.

@Cottipus It was higher because I've chosen fancy add ons that have boosted the price. Naturally, I was tempted by the interest free finance but I do love the appliances I've chosen.

The quality is meant to be considerably better than other ranges which was also appealing

Pay at least a small deposit on a credit card so you have additional consumer protection.
I’d still buy it if I could afford it, then put aside in savings the sum I’d have otherwise used to pay the finance.

Finance or cash - it’s still a 15k kitchen that you need to pay 15k for. Did you just carried away choosing stuff that was over budget because of the finance?

I wouldn't buy it. Having bought an expensive kitchen in our last home we only got 3 years out of it before we moved. There are also much cheaper options around although good appliances are worth it.
