Where did you get your kitchen worktop from?

I like the Carrara Marble style worktops but am aware that they're a little £££.

Where's yours from? Would you recommend?

If you're in the SE I recommend Domo Stone in Slough, I've used them twice for quartz workshops and they were excellent. Also much cheaper than many other places I tried.

Look at Nerostein- I love mine, was very reasonably priced and the measuring and fitting service was excellent!

Just got ours from GMQ Marble. Competitive price and 5 day turnaround- would definitely recommend.

We're about to take the plunge with Silestone Statuario, competitively priced from a local well-reviewed kitchen manufacturer - industrial estate not high street!

I've been told that some companies deliver nationally but my understanding is that they need to attend your home to measure and "template" and then come back 7-10 days later to install. So I imagine someone local can do that more affordably than someone driving 100s of miles?

I did get 4 quotes to compare since I'm buying a widely available brand.

I'd also say that Minerva is a brand of acrylic "marble style" countertops that look phenomenal in the showroom, but I've heard terrible things about using them - including one lawsuit based on the point that a surface so easily scratched and stained is inherently unfit for purpose in the kitchen...

So we've gone with a light quartz which I think will be good for 20 years with a bit of rudimentary looking after!!

Best of luck.

A warehouse that stocked seconds, worktops that hadnt sold, ex display etc. I was skint but I would recommend yes, it's fine and functional and I'm always happy to save money :)

Local stone and marble specialist (industrial estate as mentioned by a PP). Have done 2 kitchens and 4 bathrooms with them (2 houses). 2 local kitchen suppliers have both told me they can't match these guys' prices, and the workmanship is great.

I found a local independent in SE London, run by a youngish, guy who is clearly inexperienced but trying to find his way - I aim to use smaller businesses where I can. Their prices were good, and he stocked the worktop I wanted (Statuario Venato by Classic Quartz). They also have a 5 day turnaround which I was drawn too. The template appointment went well and I'm having worktop installed on Thursday.

Can I ask if you are pleased with your classic quartz worktop?
