Anybody using Halifax for a mortgage at the mo?

Just as the title says! Has anybody used or using Halifax at the moment for a mortgage? What are their turn around times like for docs being assessed etc?

We've wasted weeks with a different lender who are dragging their heels and their turn around times are woeful. So decided to jump ship over to Halifax and give them a go!

I recently (about 6 weeks ago) had Halifax approve my mortgage within 4 days of submitting the application. But I was only borrowing 3.5x salary and my LTV was just over 65% so I imagine there was a lot more desktop assessment than with higher salary multiple and higher LTV mortgages, and it didn’t have to go to the underwriters. I believe that’s what’s taking all lenders the most time at the moment.

Thank you for your response and that's great it went so quickly.

We're 85% so still high enough, I can totally understand why things are taking so long with people so keen to get moving after lockdown stopped them!

Who were you with previously? Our application took 6weeks+ to be approved ed with TSB. No further info requested or anything, just a covid backlog.

Nationwide! They've been abit ridiculous in my opinion. It's been submitted for about 3.5weeks and they asked for our credit reports as there was something extra showing (there isn't they've just taken our car twice as its PCP but shows as a loan on credit report) then they wanted a letter from my employer, as I have been on furlough but getting topped up, then they wanted another letter but worded differently to include my pay figures even though it's all on my payslips! Now they've said there won't be an update until 12th August.

Suppose I'm panicking as some banks are now not taking Furlough at all. My broker says Halifax don't need anything further with regards to Furlough they will just take whats on the payslips. Just stressful times!

Our mortgage broker (who seems to work miracles and manged to get us a 5x mortgage with Halifax) says that they're really busy at the moment. As in busy then they've been for years. It's took us 3 weeks to get our offer through, but ours was an edge case. I would say 2 to 3 weeks is the going rate at the moment. good luck!

We submitted our documents via our mortgage broker and we had it approved within 6 days. I was prepared for it to take weeks as everyone was saying the applications are taking so much longer since COVID.
