Off-the-shelf kitchen cabinets & bespoke doors

Drawing on the collective wisdom as I've never done a kitchen before and need guidance!

We're looking for good quality basic kitchen cabinet carcasses, and then solid wood doors that we can either paint ourselves, or have painted to our spec. We've looked at IKEA for cabinets and will head to Howdens this week, with a trip to Benchmark too... but we're not sure where to start with the doors! Any suggestions?

There's a company called Plykea that does what you want.

We went to DIY kitchens (all online). Brilliant quality, affordable. Very happy with the result. Any colour you want

@Mosaic123 hmmmm that does look good, though we're looking for solid wood, and ideally more of a "country kitchen" look, sorta framed doors rather than flat.

"with framed ones it's best if you buy them all from same place as the drawers will be different widths due to the frame" (as told to me by Karen at OnePlan when I asked her same question)

Another vote for DIY Kitchens. You can visit their showroom near Pontefract to see it in person but essentially everything is online.

Customer service and aftersales has been excellent.

Oh, and I have solid wood in frame units from them with custom colour on the doors.

Was much much cheaper than other retailers.
