Essential oil on car leather

Not sure why I'm putting this here but I couldn't find where else to put it!

I was taking a bottle of essential oil to work (lemongrass) and the bloody kid was loose and about a tablespoon leaked onto the black leather of my car. Smells lovely but the texture of it has changed. It's a new car sad and the staining is obvious - what do I do?! I have no idea how to clean this 😳

Car leather is usually cleaned with soapy cleaners, then dressed with a greasy material that contains lanolin (I think) that's buffed off. The soapy cleaner may remove excess oil, I don't know.

Try to find the Customer Service email for Autoglym, who are a large maker of such products, they may have some guidance.

Avoid household cleaning products in case you damage or stain the leather.

you could dab it with a soft cotton cloth to try to absorb any excess oiliness still on the surface.

Thank you PigletJohn - I'll do exactly that.

Kicking myself!
