Has anyone tried this in their home?
We’ve just had the surveyor out, seems expensive but is it worth it?

It’s a condensation build up in a house that we let out.
Have told them to open windows, not dry clothes on radiators, bought them a dehumidifier.
Just want to be able to sort it out and not have to ask them to do anything.

We had a quote from envirovent. We bought this instead as I wasn't convinced. Dh cut a hole in the ceiling and it is plugged in, in the loft.

I was absolutely astonished that the condensation disappeared overnight. I have hardly used my inhaler and heating bills have gone down since. Still going strong after many years.

Ours has a remote control so I just turn it down in summer.

Yes, socket is in the loft. Super easy to fit.

We were advised to try new air bricks first, then look at a system such as envirovent.

Air bricks are incredibly unlikely to make a significant difference. Positive input ventilation systems like the envirovent one are very effective. Look at Nuaire Drimasters too as they tend to be cheaper but do the same thing (just less flashy lights/buttons etc)

Agree look at the Nuare Drimaster range. Cost about £200-400 depending on which model. You’ll need a power socket in the loft and a grille installed in your top landing ceiling. They seem to be quite commonly used by landlords.

We had them in best thing we ever did. Yes expensive but it was costing us so much In mould removal and replacing mouldy things it's paid for itself.

Runs continually and is quiet enough. Time will tell but it’s a much cheaper option to try.

Is this like a fan?
Does it fit in the wall like an extractor fan?

Yes it just runs constantly. Some of the other solutions sound good but are more expensive and my flat didn’t have a loft for the pipe work.

Yes I'd recommended an electrician particularly if it’s a rental property.
