How much for new double glazing?

We got a quote on Friday night, for 7 windows(2 very small, downstairs loo & utility room) and 2 doors (back door and French window), of about 5,500.

Now I have NO IDEA whether this is a good or bad price, and I urgently need to get another quote (dh wants to just sign and go for it), but while I'm waiting for someone to come round, can anyone give me a ball-park idea?

ours were 6,000 for about the same but only 1 very small cloakroom window.

we just had an extension built and ours cost £2,800 and that included one stable door, 6 large window and one small toilet window.
vwey impressed with price and will get him to re do other half of house later on this year.

we ahd several quotes and this was the cheapest and recommended by several friends

I would always shop around and see if anyone is doing any deals. We had conservatory blind quotes that ranged from £2k to £7k - yes for blinds!!!! Not a conservatory!

Try local companies as opposed to the big national ones who pay a lot for their advertising and have to get that back through the prices they charge.

Any company that gives you a pressurised sale of "this deal is only available if you sign today or next 48 hours" isn't wanting you to look around at what others are charging.

We recently had our patio doors replaced(7ft wide),a small window and the 2 front bedroom windows replaced too and it cost 2k cash.
We used a small local firm that we have used before and found them excellent.The other bonus is there was absolutely no mess around the frames afterwards,so didn't have any patching up diy jobs to do.
