Damp smell in cellar

We had a bit of a wet cellar recently. Although it wasn't disastrous and was quite easy to deal with, it's left a nasty damp odour.

Any tried and tested ideas please (preferably quick and cheap ones) for dealing with it?

is it still damp - a dehumidifier perhaps ?
