Dulux colour of the year 2019 = heavy nicotine staining!

It's actually called spiced honey but honestly it's the colour most of my new house (previously occupied by a heavy indoor smoker for 40years) was prior to me getting scrubbing with sugar soap. Ive tried looking on my tablet as well as phone, incase it was the colour not showing properly on my display but it didn't help. What are they thinking?!

God that's dull. It sucks the life out of the room in the press release - it looks like a mid price hotel decorated in 1996

What a load of wank.

"How Dulux's Colour of the Year is decided.

2019 marks the 16th year of the global ColourFutures annual trend forecast from Dulux, which involves an expert panel of colour designers, design specialists, trend forecasters, architects and editors from around the world joining together to discuss what we increasingly need from the spaces around us. Capturing a universal theme, they finally suggest a colour that suitably embodies the mood of the moment for the year ahead."

Extract above explains why it was chosen - it's poo coloured because what with Brexit and Trump, the world is going to shit.

It's brown.

I haven't lived in a brown house since the 1970s.

Unless I'm much mistaken their colour of the year for 2018 was very similar.

It’s the colour of cardboard.

It's taupe. Why not just call it taupe.

My gran had a phrase to describe a colour such as this “shit colour drab”

So it's also baby pop and fake tan proof! Hmmm🤔 my mum had said they should change the name to Smokers Delight now I'm wondering if there's a name that incorporates all the disgusting stains it can hide Grin

Thing is I'm not against brown - in some places in the right shade it can be nice - with this one it's the yellowish & orangish undertones that make it match so well with heavy nicotine stained walls (and baby pop) that makes me 😷 Envy

Am I the only one who finds it really dated? It makes me think of late nineties 'chic Italian ibspired' interiors.
