It's actually called spiced honey but honestly it's the colour most of my new house (previously occupied by a heavy indoor smoker for 40years) was prior to me getting scrubbing with sugar soap. Ive tried looking on my tablet as well as phone, incase it was the colour not showing properly on my display but it didn't help. What are they thinking?!

God that's dull. It sucks the life out of the room in the press release - it looks like a mid price hotel decorated in 1996

’It’s perfect for creating a relaxed cosy atmosphere in places where we like to think, dream, love and act'

What a load of wank.

PickAChew Fri 07-Sep-18 21:02:05

"How Dulux's Colour of the Year is decided.

2019 marks the 16th year of the global ColourFutures annual trend forecast from Dulux, which involves an expert panel of colour designers, design specialists, trend forecasters, architects and editors from around the world joining together to discuss what we increasingly need from the spaces around us. Capturing a universal theme, they finally suggest a colour that suitably embodies the mood of the moment for the year ahead."

Extract above explains why it was chosen - it's poo coloured because what with Brexit and Trump, the world is going to shit.

Neolara, that has to be one of the best Property/DIY posts ever.

It's brown.

I haven't lived in a brown house since the 1970s.

wowfudge Fri 07-Sep-18 22:07:04

Unless I'm much mistaken their colour of the year for 2018 was very similar.

70isaLimitNotaTarget Fri 07-Sep-18 22:45:44

Maybe the grey isn't so bad after all wink

Joinourclub Fri 07-Sep-18 22:58:32

It’s the colour of cardboard.

DropZoneOne Fri 07-Sep-18 23:01:35

It's taupe. Why not just call it taupe.

FrogFairy Fri 07-Sep-18 23:43:07

My gran had a phrase to describe a colour such as this “shit colour drab”

Fooferella Fri 07-Sep-18 23:47:06

Hero shade Spiced Honey will help drive change

What, a change of address?

PinkArmadillo Fri 07-Sep-18 23:47:43

I quite like it blush

There is something very 70s about it

HowDoIGetOffTheBus Fri 07-Sep-18 23:49:41

It's a painty metaphor for Brexit.

LemonRedwood Fri 07-Sep-18 23:51:34

It's brown. Baby-poo brown at that.

HelenUrth Fri 07-Sep-18 23:58:48

Shit in a can.
And you've to pay for it. confused
No way.

Pinkandproud Sat 08-Sep-18 00:01:42

That article is so embarrassing. I can’t believe it was written with a straight face.

EvilRingahBitch Sat 08-Sep-18 00:03:59

I took one look at that and thought “baby poo”.

Completionmisery Sat 08-Sep-18 00:07:13

It has been decided on by a massive collection of mothers with teenage daughters who are totally fed up with fake tan/foundation prints all. over. the. house bring it on I say, emulsion, gloss, carpets the lot never see a stain again grin

mangocoveredlamb Sat 08-Sep-18 08:21:55

God that’s awful!

HomeOfMyOwn Sat 08-Sep-18 19:11:37

So it's also baby pop and fake tan proof! Hmmm🤔 my mum had said they should change the name to Smokers Delight now I'm wondering if there's a name that incorporates all the disgusting stains it can hide grin

Thing is I'm not against brown - in some places in the right shade it can be nice - with this one it's the yellowish & orangish undertones that make it match so well with heavy nicotine stained walls (and baby pop) that makes me 😷 envy <<not envy
