Extension just starting. Chaos!

Have GOT to make a decision on choosing the french doors and windows to the patio area! Aluminium. Mid price range. Traditional looking rather than modern.

Also, who has chosen french doors instead of bifolds and managed the keeping the doors open safely trick? Confused

I've learned everything I know on Mumsnet Grin but can I find any recent threads on this?!!!

Any wise words of who to choose, or not to choose?

And I'll copy to Chat for traffic as I suspect everyone is away on holiday lying on their sunbeds. Wink

We got French doors and prop them open with large tubs with plants in.
Previous house we had Everest french doors and they came with hooks to hook the doors open.

Thank you both! So sorry, I was SO bored by my own dull thread I forgot all about it. Grin

Those Schuko doors look a bit posh Phyllis. Think we may be out of cash by the time we get to the doors and need to reign it in.

I'd better look into hooks. I'm not strong enough to shift any pots.

We have large French doors - the space wasn’t wide enough to justify / properly fit bifolds once you account for the fold (just under 2m). The company set them as far against the outer wall as possible so they would open as close to flat against outside wall as they could (and they really are almost flat) & supplied hooks & eyelet thingys to go in the wall. They fitted all of it. They are only boring upvc as we weren’t changing enough windows to justify anything else but the metal hooks (chrome - feel v solid) were an extra £15 total I think. So nothing really.

That's interesting sdaily26 thank you. We won't have the wall space to do this which is disappointing. It would be great to have them hooked in, instead of wildly flapping about Grin.

Anyone else think, feck it, haven't quite thought this whole design through!!? Confused Grin
