Do you sit in your windowwseat?

For quite a while now I have wanted a windowseat in my living room. It will take a bit of work to build and we will lose bit of width in the room as the sill will need extending into the room. I like to see myself sitting there when it's raining, enjoying the garden. Am I being realistic? Do you have a windowseat and do you use it to sit on? Any hints to making it more useable?
Thanks!

I have a sofa in a bay window, I sit there a lot. As long as it's truly comfy, e.g. somewhere to support your back and put your feet up, plus somewhere to easily put down a book and a drink, yes it can be very well used.

You could build it with some lift up sections for extra storage.

I have a window seat in the bay in my bedroom. I sit there loads as it has a lovely view.

I always coveted one but when we could have had one, we decided against it. We have had them in Hotel bedrooms and found them uncomfortable. No back that supports so they are like perching on a stool. I actually prefer a statement chair that you can move to face the garden or turn to face into the room. Way more comfortable and versatile.

Has anyone got an actual windowseat where the cushions etc are on the wood rather than a separate chair. Maybe big squishy deep sofa cushions. Do you find it comfy or would you rather sit elsewhere?
