How much for a new bannister?

Not sure whether to get ours sanded and painted or have a new one. I really like the metal ones with oak on top but it probably wouldn't go in our hallway so will probably end up sanding what wenhave and painting it white.

I'm torn between white tongue and groove with pale grey walls, which would mean white bannister or a neutral beige (dulux natural hessian) which could take oak and metal bannister.
