Has anyone recently got a mortgage offer through from HSBC? We’ve got the in principle offer and will be putting in an offer on a house next week (both vendor and us are chain free)... just trying to figure out how long the formal mortgage paperwork bit is currently taking. Thanks

I've got the same case so should be good to know. I had the mortgage AiP, we've placed an offer on a house, but I've heard that HSBC is one of the slowest ones to have the process going. Can anyone share their experience?

I’m in the process of getting a home owner loan with them, so essentially what they call a remortgage, only I had no mortgage to start with. So no idea if it’s quicker or not.

I did both apt’s back to back and it went to the local underwriter and the advisor rang me a few hours later to say all approved. Offer letter was issued four working days later and passed over to the legal firm. Everything has been sent electronically so no need to wait for the post.

Thanks both. HSBC told us 6 weeks to process everything once they have details of the actual house. Seems like a long time! Hoping someone has feedback of recent timelines, as it should be a super straightforward process to get to exhange date quickly.
