Ovens and doubles and microwaves, oh my!

We're having our kitchen installed in a couple of weeks time. When I had it designed, I went for a double oven, one smaller on top in one tower unit. Then a tower unit adjacent with microwave and warming drawer. All eye level ish.

If I could lose a tower unit the run if kitchen wouldn't spread into the lounge area so much. Plus the appliances in each tower don't line up as all different sizes so it doesn't look symmetrical. BUT I have always had two ovens and use both, and use a microwave a lot. Am I right to get these separate appliances instead of single oven + micro oven combi all put into one tower? How good a combis for both oven and microwaving? Should I sacrifice all the options to get it into one tower?

Having all three appliances in one tower meant oven was practically at knee height.

WWYD?

Ho- I have the tower of oven and another one above- the top one is smaller and is an oven and microwave
Neff appliances
Microwave is the best I've ever had and the oven is absolutely great too.
No issues at all. I do use the 'main' oven much more as I have a small family but when I do Christmas or Sunday roasts or lots of pizza for friends then the two get used simultaneously and I've always been pleased.

There have been quite a few threads on here covering this exact topic recently. I remain a firm advocate of 2 ovens and a separate microwave if you have the space. That combination tends to be considerably cheaper, you'll get a much higher spec microwave for the money and a bigger second oven.

Im probably a little biased however, as I often use the 'jacket potato' program on our microwave and I couldn't find a combi that had a similar setting :)

2 single ovens and a separate microwave gets my vote.

This decision continues to be the bain of my current decision making-we are going single oven in one tower with a Combi oven/micro in another tower next to it with a warming drawer under in order to get the symmetry. Very concerned I might be compromising function for aesthetics though... thinking of a compact oven instead of the Combi and then putting a freestanding microwave in a wall unit...

Anyway back to your question (apologies!) I would be tempted for one tall tower as the symmetry would bother me and sounds as though it might work better from a space perspective? Anyway you can get a microwave elsewhere? Wall unit?

We have a single oven/grill in a tower with the microwave combi above. Then the hob in the island has another oven underneath. Obviously that is not eye level but it gives me two ovens. The under counter one is 900 wide like the hob so rather unusual. I could not cook for lots of people wthout it. The bottom section below the oven in the tower is a drawer for ovenware.

However a warming draw is a great idea. Would this work in the bottom of the tower? Do you have space under the hob for another oven?

Don't have a free standing microwave. You will spoil the look of the kitchen if you do that.

Space constraints mean that when we get our kitchen redone, we will have a single oven, then a ridiculously expensive combi oven-microwave on top, both Neff, in a single tower unit. I have been dubious about the combi, because the cheap ones I've had before have been rubbish at the oven/grill bit. So, it is good to hear a good review from Scarf!

And if it does function well as an oven/grill, I will be incredibly excited, because I have only had a single oven for literally decades.

Can you put the microwave elsewhere? Built in to another wall unit but not a tower?

Under the hob is the obvious location for oven no 2.

Yes 2 separate ovens side by side and a separate microwave (hidden in an appliance garage or utility room).

Ok so thinking on this again...

I'm def going with two tower units, mostly because whilst I've been thinking about this the electricians have been in and out wiring in for two.

So...if I had a double oven in one tower, what could I have next to it to balance it out. I haven't got room for microwave in another wall unit plus don't want to ruin the look with freestanding. Can't imagine where else I could slot an oven plus we use the microwave all the time so I'm another room would be a nightmare.

From what I can see double ovens tend to be c. 875mm high. So that's a lot of (expensive) integrated appliances in the other side to balance it out. This is why people have two single ovens isn't it?

Can you have some kind of appliance garage/pantry and put the microwave in there?
