Ordered an item from this company some time ago which was never received and I unsuccessfully tried to cancel. Now company have emailed saying they are going into liquidation so cannot fulfil orders or give refunds. Their website appears to still be taking orders so please avoid!

I have just started a post on the same subject. Dh waited in for furniture to be delivered all day on Monday, they only rang us to arrange a delivery date a few days before. Now an email to say they are in administration !

Yes we had an email this afternoon too - delivery is due on Friday. We'll be contacting the bank to arrange a charge back tomorrow. Hopefully that's possible.

What a shame my son has. Bought some of their furniture and been very pleased with it. Luckily his came before Christmas. Sorry for you. Could you still buy from showrooms if you want that piece. I know you would have to pay twice but if you are matching. There is one near me.

I’m mainly annoyed that they took my money 4 months ago then immediately emailed me to say that the product would be delayed. After various emails from them extending the delay I requested to cancel but never received the money back into my account. It feels as though they originally took my money knowing full well that I would never get anything for it.

Now you mention it Mama, they did email after we placed the order to say it was out of stock and did we want to wait for it to be back in stock. My husband agreed but I wonder if that was a missed warning sign.

Same here, ordered a £200 table weeks ago. Got the email today that they are filing for receivership and no refund. Fucking arseholes!

We've contacted the bank and they seem to be hopeful we will get our money back but we will see.

My mum has ordered a couple of items through Oak furniture land rather than oak furniture solutions and she too received the email yesterday!!! Be really careful and make some phone calls. She has just phoned the showroom she ordered from and they are getting a load of calls from people who have been sent the same email which may be a scam, she didn't even leave an email with the store. PLEASE CHECK WITH THE SHOWROOM THAT YOU ORDERED THROUGH. Her order is still being delivered next week

That’s strange Wendy! I ordered online from Oak Furniture Solutions however, not from Oak Furniture Land. OF Solutions have stopped answering calls or emails so I don’t think it’s a scam. If anyone has any luck getting a refund from their bank card please let me know!

Yeah we've got a £900 order outstanding. Paid by Mastercard so hopefully we should be ok, but in the meantime I can't order something else in case this all works out and we do actually get our order. The email we got said we would know more by the 31st. Grrr.

DH contacted visa today (visa debit card) who think it shouldn't be an issue to get a refund and will be in touch in 7-10 days to say what's going on / get the money (DH isn't clear on which Hmm )

Tanfastic · 24/01/2018 19:32

Yes that's what they said to us 7/10 days. Fingers crossed!

Still advertising- these people are incredibly dishonest! I spoke to trading standards as I feel that they shouldn’t still be selling to unsuspecting new customers. Fat lot of help:
Me: I bought from OFS, item indefinitely out of stock, order cancelled but they haven’t refunded money to my account.
Trading Standards: ok, you need to contact them. Try phoning or emailing.
Me: yes I have many times. Phones and emails not being answered now because they say their business is on hold because they might go into liquidation.
TS: we can’t do anything about that, you need to contact the liquidator. Please note you are very unlikely to get your money back from them.
Me: what if they’re lying? What if they don’t go into liquidation? And all the time they are still selling to customers on their website? There are lots of complaints on trustpilot from people who have had their money taken but no goods received- isn’t that theft?
TS: you’ll just have to wait and see if they go into liquidation. Try contacting companies house.

Oak furniture land are at pains to say that they are very much not in any way connected to the solutions business so people shouldn’t stop shopping at oak furniture land. This is from their Facebook site

I work at a small family run business in Cornwall called Oak City selling furniture. We are nothing to do with Oak Furniture Solutions yet we are getting lots of worried customers phone us up asking if we are going into administration. Of which we are not.

These types of administrations affect the whole industry and not just the business involved. I feel sorry for the customers and staff directly involved. I hope you all get your money back as speaking to a few customers just this morning they are just upset as they don't know what is going on which is totally unfair. Sad

Sorry for the customers who lost money and the staff of Oak solutions. We were lucky not to place order here and instead placed order with Choice furniture, they did identical ranges as oak solutions and offered us a better price with quick delivery.

How awful, I would be so upset as a customer too. Most people can't run out and spend that same amount again with a different company.

We had a bad experience with Oak Furniture Land and I had been looking for a different Oak Furniture store to deal with. Oak Furniture Solutions was one I had considered, so I appreciate the warning!

Bit at a loss as to where to look next though.

If you paid with a credit card, the credit card company are jointly liable and will have to refund the money. If you paid with a debit card bearing the Visa logo, they can usually arrange for the money to be taken back from the recipient's account. Speak to your banks asap before the money is all gone.

Was very close to buying £2,500 worth of furniture off Oak Furniture Solutions only last Wednesday. Luckily I didn’t. I ordered today off Elegant Oak. Price was a Bit cheaper for what seems similar quality furniture. Will get delivery next week. I find it unbelievable that Oak Furniture Solutions are allowed to keep advertising and selling when they are gone into administration.

It says on their website that liquidators have now been appointed and they have ceased trading so at least no more unsuspecting people will order from them.
However it also says that if you paid by debit card and the order was less than £100 you should be able to get it charged back. So basically if you paid debit rather than credit card you’re pretty screwed because who orders less than £100 from a furniture company?

I don’t Think thats correct though. I came up with the same answer as you when I googled it but actually there’s no limit on a visa debit chargeback. We’ve called the bank and they think there’s a good chance of getting our £700 back. Fingers crossed

Yes, we spent more than £100 on visa debit and visa said we should get it back.
