Toilet installed about a year ago is ever so slightly leaking from the base. Is this something I can fix or what should be done?

do you mean leaking from the pipe that comes out of the back?

Or is it leaking from the bottom of the cistern and running down the outside?

put a few drops of food dye into the pan, and a different colour into the cistern. What colour is the leak?

Thank you. I am not sure. Where the toilet meets the floor there is a small amount of water around the edge. I will try food dye and report back!

BiZarrely the problem seems to have gone away but if it happens again I will bear in mind the useful tip thanks.

Could have been condensation if the room was warm and damp and the cold water cold. Maybe the change in weather stopped it.

My victorian tenement flat has a gas fire and had a window trickle vent which has no close function and a large wall vent about two foot from floor height which again, can't be closed. I'm the volume of cold air that is pouring in is shocking, negating the use of the fire! Does anyone hav any experience of these vents and know if I can replace them with something less like winter storm...
