Insuring empty house for Sale

Hi - Our house is empty and on the market. Insurance company have cancelled our policy as they don't cover houses that are being sold. Can anyone recommend a company that does. The house is also of non-traditional construction.

Thanks

This site was fairly useful: www.money.co.uk/home-insurance/unoccupied-house-insurance.htm

Have a Google for some more options.

We insured an empty house, but our insurers gave us the name of (possibly an insurance bureau, can't remember) someone who could point us at a company who would cover it. But our previous policy was still valid, we spoke to them to let them know about the change and that's when they said they wouldn't cover it but contact whoeveritwas to find someone who would.

It was much more expensive and we had to arrange for someone to check the house at regular intervals stated in the policy.

More than insured ours and they were very reasonable. We had to agree to visit and check the house regularly I think it was about once a week .
