How easy would it be to fit a power shower?

The boiler is behind the wall so I assume electric is fairly close

Any ideas?

Needs a plumber and possibly electrician. I don't think you can have one with combi boiler although could be wrong. Ours uses a motor to 'power' out the hot water from tank. Goes tepid after about 20 mins.

You need an electrician to run the cable to th shower and a plumber to fit the pipework and then the shower to the wall.

Oh gosh I know we can't do it - but I kind of need to know if it's a big (rip out the tiles & replaster) job or a smaller (drill for a cable) job?

We do have a combi boiler - what sort of shower should we have then? As this one is umm very poor pressure

You’ll need to take off the tiles (professional will do this) and then electrician might need access from above for the wires if there isn’t an electric shower already there.

Poop it won't be happening then as we can't afford it

I was hoping it was only an electric cable that would need to come through as the water pipes could have been done in chrome (visibly)

But we are unlikely to match the tiles & the whole bathroom is tiled

There is electric in the next room so I'd hoped it would be easy

An electrician would run the wiring from the other room but would need to wire to up to the shower needing access from behind the tiles.

Do you have any spare tiles?

That must have been March/April at the latest as in May we went off for a 4.5 month holiday which might be why we have no money now

I can't find a separate switch for the shower so I'm assuming not

But I'm not an expert this maybe the most pointless thing I have posted today because its fairly obvious

If you can get a recommendation for a good plumber it might be worth asking them out for a look. Whereabouts are you? I know a fantastic one in the south warwickshire area.

well i had a similar shower (not electric) but had a pump in the airing cupboard

sadly the pump died and the shower became rubbish,anyway i have just had a new pump fitted £290 all in and my god its fantastic a real pleasure and powerful

so im wondering if you could get a pump fitted it makes all the differrence and no trouble with tiles etc,very low mess and wouldnt effect your bathroom decor etc at all

Our pump is in the airing cupboard behind. I would have thought it could be retro fitted from the other side if pipework is ok. Perhaps get a plumber out to take a look.

I have been told to fit a pump in the during cupboard to boost the hot water to two bathrooms, the pressure is ok from the cold water. How is your pressure.

Can't find his number Alwayscheerful, DH will have it and he'll be home late so I'll send it tomorrow. He's a bathroom fitter/plumber if that's ok, if you need something like a new boiler I would rec someone different.

no mess involved

cheaper to run than electric shower

took just under an hr to swap over etc

yes should be in airing cupboard
