Just that really - we have a lot of picture books of different sizes and I really struggle to keep them somewhere where they are easy to get out and put back... books all over the floor. Anyone found a solution to this?

The flat bookcases are great for this- called tidy book I think. We've had ours 11 years- looks immaculate, and holds a lot of children's books. Also, the lipped-edge shelves from Ikea if you can drill into walls.

We have the Tody Books bookcases where you put the books with their covers facing out. The kids love them and visitors always ask where we got them...

Thanks - it's so difficult to tell how many the tidy book cases hold - we have A LOT of books...

I've wondered the same, always thought we had too many for the spice racks or front facing ones... they look such a mess on a regular bookcase though!

I use Ikea picture ledges for ds2s picture books. You can get quite long ones.

This isn't a very good pic but you get the idea. I've put up one the length of his bed and another long one above the radiator. Probably holds 40-50 books between the 2.

Ikea picture ledges or BEKVAM spice racks, although the latter doesn't hold much. The FLISAT book display holds quite a lot but stands on the floor.

We've just got a gallery bookcase for DD in the GLTC sale.

We've just got a very big Really Useful Box. Fits at least 50 books and as long as it's pretty full they stay upright so can easily flick through. Takes up floor space, mind.
