Where should i get them from?
I need 2 for my living room. The plumber is coming today to take of the old ones and cap the pipes. I dont need anything fancy but i want them to be decent quality.

I've tried looking online but i get overwhelmed with choice and and options for pipes etc.

I will ask the plumber but i know you lot are great at suggestions and recommendations.

Thanks

plumbers merchant.

you can look online.

If the old ones weren't big enough to heat your room quickly and adequately, get bigger or double ones. The TRV will prevent the room being overheated. Wide and low gives a more even heat than narrow and tall.

the plumber will have a local source, but do your own searches by size to make sure he charges a reasonable amount.

You will also need new radiator valves/TRVs.

The Danfoss RAS C2 is the best I know, even better than the Drayton which for a long time I liked best, and is rather overpriced.

Radiators are made of steel which will rust if it is in contact with both water and air. If your old ones rusted, there was probably a leak or other defect causing air, or fresh oxygenated water, to get into the system, so that needs to be traced and rectified. You should add corrosion inhibitor on final fill. It will only cost you about £15 but watch to see it goes in. There is a black market in "left over" plumbing chemicals which some customer probably paid for.

Plumb center and screwfix are a good starting point. Read up on the difference between single and double though....

Thanks piglet.
The plumber has recommended double ones from a local merchants.
£123 inc vat for double convectors ones x2 which I thought was very reasonable.
Fitting is obviously on top of that.

I got Stelrad double convector radiators from Plumb Centre when they were on offer at a good price.

We bought some last weekend from B&Q of all places - they were on clearance because they are changing their stock lines. They have a ten year guarantee.

Screwfix. Always screwfix.
