Argument with DH. Is your draining board to the left or right of the sink?

Discussing layout of new kitchen.

DH says the space would work better if the draining board was on the left of the sink. I say the draining board is always on the right of the sink and I would feel weird washing up if it was on the left.

Who's right?

Depends if your left handed?

Ours is in the right - but it's preference

Get a dishwasher is the only answer

Ours is on the left and I think thats where it ought to be. I hold the dish in my left hand so my dominant hand does the sponging/scrubbing, which means the left hand just lifts the dish to the side slightly when its done.

Thinking about it everyone I knows is on the left.

Ours is on the left. It was on the right in our last house. TBH it wouldn't bother me which side it was on.

Right.

Ours is on the left.
More naturally for me it would be on the right, but that might just be because that's where it was at home when I was growing up.
Put it on whichever side the space works better.

Mines on the right, but in my last place it was on the left. I'm left handed so preferred it on the left.

Left here too! It worked better with the way the kitchen is (if it was right things would be knocked off)

It was on the right but was put on the left when we had a new kitchen. Took ages to get used to it but seems normal now.

We're both right handed btw.

Two sinks in my kitchen one drainer on the left the other on the right.
I'm right handed and prefer the right hand drainer.

My dad's (where I grew up) is on the left. First house together & then our flat it was on the left both times. The house we live in now it's on the right (even after 2 kitchen changes). Dhs family home it's on the right.
