Roof terrace decking?

We have a roof terrace in our new house. It seems to be just the flat roof with a big mat laid over it. The mat is sort of hole-y.
My partner thinks we should put decking on it to protect the roof.

I've just seen decking tiles mentioned on another thread and wondered if these would work?

It has proper railings round it and I know the previous owners used it for 40 years. Thanks.

Yes the Ikea runner would work. You could buy one pack and lay it then see .
