How hard is it to refurb old doors?

Our Edwardian house has cheap, thin, new pine doors, but I have managed to salvage original doors from the house next door. How hard would it be for a DIY novice to get the old paint off these doors so they can be repainted? Pics attached. Any advice welcome.

It's not that hard but it is time consuming. You can either use a heat gun or paint stripper.

My parents sent theirs off to a company (local to them, they collected them) to strip them chemically. Don't think it was expensive and saved a huge amount of time.

I got all my doors (1930s) dipped. Cost about £15 per door. They collected them and then delivered them a week later. Easy peasy and really cheap!

Great find! There will be somewhere local to dip them, then a good coat of varnish.

Yeah, dip stripping is the way to go.
They probably won't come back with absolutely every scrap of paint removed, and will also repay being lovingly sanded before protection is applied.

You can pay someone to do the whole job, but cheaper and more satisfying to finish them yourself.

Get them dipped. I refurbished an old elm door and went through tons of Nitromoors - it had over a hundred years of paint on it, so many layers to remove. It cost me more to do it myself and I ended up with chemical burns on my arms. Horrible stuff. This was years ago, so perhaps Nitromoors is no longer available. I haven't stripped anything since!
