Starting to spend money on move

This is normal right? Chain is now complete, so we are putting our mortgage application in. Have to pay for the survey upfront. Also our solicitors don't offer no move no fee, so we will be very shortly incurring costs. It is just so scary, what happens if we don't end up moving? We just lose all the money!

You might but it's the only way to do it a bit scary but you do just have to bite the bullet

Have you looked into buyer's insurance?

This is the only way to buy though...

Most people in a chain are in the same position - you all want to move. That is the incentive to get the deals done.

Yep this happened to us. Our buyer tried to demand a lot of money off the asking price last minute, we refused and had to re-market the house. In the process we lost the house we were buying as well as they decided to go with another buyer (even though we sold again in 6 days). We probably lost about £2000 ish. However did then put our house back on the market and sell for more, and bought a much nicer house in the process so although we lost money it worked out better for us long term.
