Replacement doors on IKEA Faktum kitchen

Badgertastic · 05/04/2017 21:13

We are moving soon and the new house has an Ikea Faktum kitchen. The internals of the kitchen cupboards are well spec'd with drawers, carousels etc so don't particularly want to replace the whole kitchen. However the kitchen doors are not to my taste. They no longer stock the Faktum range in the UK as they have moved to Metod which are totally different sizes, and replacement Faktum doors have to be ordered from Germany with a high shipping cost. I was wondering about using a UK company to replace the doors. Has anyone got any recommendations? Or any companies to avoid? Thanks Smile

These companies do doors to suit the new Ikea - they might do the old Ikea sizing ( as more on a par with UK standard sizes ) too ? Worth asking !

My mother got her whole kitchen redone with Faktum doors last year...the doors cost around €450 and the shipping was only €50. Have you gotten a definite price?

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a look at those @one. I've found a few places online doing a Google search but was wondering if anyone would recommend a company they had used. @magic thanks for letting me know. I've had a few bits from Ikea Germany for our current kitchen and the shipping was £165 from Ikea, though that did include a carcass so the weight would have been more. I've not had a quote for doors for the new kitchen but will ask the question once we've moved. The only problem is that there is limited choice. I've seen a style in the new range I like but it won't fit so was thinking a different company that specialises in replacement doors would probably have more styles to choose from. Smile

How do you order Faktum doors from Germany?

You do it through the store or you can ring IKEA customer services to see if you can do it over the phone. On the Ikea website they have the sheets with the part numbers of the doors, cupboards and internals etc.

If you want something really special then look at naked Doors. I had kitchen from their Naked Kitchens side which was amazing but could'nt afford to spend that sort of money in the utility room when we finally got around to it. So we went for Ikea Metod and the doors from Naked and it looks brill. So much so we kinda think we should have saved the money on the kitchen....owww. Try them. We damaged a door fitting it and they even repaired it for free for us, but this might be because we were a kitchen customer I don't know.

I think they are

nakeddoors.com

We also had one door for a washine machine which was an odd size and they made that in the same style as the other doors which was great as it looked really crappy seeing the washing machine there too, and now it looks like it was a fitted kitchen! Good luck anyway and hope that helps. G

Just an update, I went to Ikea yesterday and they no longer do the ordering for Faktum kitchens. They said they supported it for three years after they changed to the new range but now no longer supply doors etc! I'm going to have a look at some of the options suggested here. If anyone else has ever used another supplier and can recommend them for replacement doors I'd love to her from you.

Does anyone have an update on getting doors and drawer fronts for IKEA Faktum cabinets, as per Badgertastic post above. Thanks

//www.faktum.co.uk
A swedish company's UK website. They apparently manufacture Faktum fronts to the original Ikea designs/sizes and ship across europe.

Although in Swedish, this main site www.smlandsluckan.se/ gives their full range.

I recommend //www.noremax.com life from August 2018 in UK. Purpose made doors and drawers for Faktum and Metod kitchens measured by IKEA´s original drawings. This is a Norwegian company with bespoke IKEA fronts for good prices and fix shipping cost. Few different models, any color you can imagine and 3 different levels of gloss. Worth checking out.

Reawakening this zombie thread to find out if anyone has experience of noremax? Their doors look great but reluctant to fork out without knowing how good they are

I've still not sorted ours out. I've had a look at the two mentioned and plan to contact a local company too. I'll report back when I get a bit further forward.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone has managed to successfully source their faktum doors/units?
We have recently moved and want to add more wall units to our utility room.

@Badgertastic We have the plain flat doors in white. I've just realised that Ikea have also changed their cupboard sizes and now no longer do the 40x70 size unit Angry which we wanted as adding on to a run of existing units.
Why oh why are things never as simple as you first imagine Hmm

Badgertastic · 09/01/2020 21:22

I know exactly what you mean. I've got some units that size but our doors are different. White with a vague shaker style. If the carcasses are useful to you DM me.

Hi, I am replacing all my kitchen fronts for new ones that i am having made by a friend. I currently have the shaker style in birch. Two double wall hung doors are glass. I will be putting the whole lot on ebay if anyone is interested.
