Truro - Penair Secondary School

Eek! May be moving and am after some inside knowledge on Penair School in particular, but also if there is a state alternative that you would definitely go for over Penair then I would love to know where, and why.
I wouldn't be living in Truro, definitely not North of there and not Falmouth. Also not Camborne or Redruth. More like Helston and surrounding villages, Penzance and surrounding up to St Erth area, possibly St Agnes. I know Cornish roads can take longer than you think so am hoping someone can tell me if Helston to Truro is a ridiculous idea traffic wise? Or some top tips on great villages.

Helston to truro is a long way each day in order to stay on reasonable roads you have to go through falmouth.

Penair was the top secondary school 15-20 years ago, but not rated particularly highly now. Both Richard Lander and The Roseland are much better. Also Helston to Truro every day would definitely be a trek.
