You know the EA is struggling to describe a house when they say "fresh breeze and unpolluted air" Hmm

No mention of "needs gutting"

How have people been living in that? Is it a half finished project?

PhoenixJasmine · 24/03/2017 09:58

I actually think it's lovely - and most of the gutting has already been done for you Grin but the structure, space, outside aspect and location (schools etc) seem fab - if I had reason to be living in that part of the world it would be very interesting!

It looks liveable in, obviously very scruffy but liveable.

Nanasueathome · 24/03/2017 10:00

Define 'well presented'

FunSpunge · 24/03/2017 10:03

I can't quite make out if it's a mid renovation or if someone actually lives that way Confused

It does say please see the photos. I can't believe someone is living in it but they clearly are. The clothes look like they could belong to an office worker.

It looks like it has potential to be a gorgeous house.

Is it really terraced? Looks detached.

TheWoodlander · 24/03/2017 10:07

I'm just silently weeping at the price. I live in the SE....

FunSpunge · 24/03/2017 10:13

I couldn't imagine living in the SE.. I think the price they want for this is too high

If you think this house is cheap, North Yorkshire is amazingly priced! I wish I could move up there, it's gorgeous!

The EA is scraping it with the description. There's a lot of potential though.

I thought North Yorkshire was supposed to be expensive relative to the rest of the country (exc London)? Based on a repeat of Escape to the Country. Grin

user1484830599 · 24/03/2017 10:23

That is really sad to think someone is living in those conditions.

Bluntness100 · 24/03/2017 10:25

I can't believe the agent actually wrote it's "well presented",..😱

However it could be a beautiful house with enough time and money thrown at it.

99percentchocolate · 24/03/2017 10:27

Unfortunately people do live in those conditions. Someone very close to me does but refuses to allow us to help improve the house or relocate them. Very sad.

Allthebestnamesareused · 24/03/2017 10:32

Fresh breeze with unpolluted air surely means bloody great hole in the roof?

Anyway it has good wifi Grin

ThomasHardyPerennial · 24/03/2017 13:34

I love that original cast iron range! The full description is rubbish, no room details Hmm. I think it is overpriced too, for the condition. What a great space and location though!

Cinderpi · 24/03/2017 19:14

I've lived in worse! It's doable once the plumbing is working, and the only way we could afford to get on the housing ladder.

sucue · 24/03/2017 19:22

Just grateful someone put the toilet seat down.

Bluntness100 · 24/03/2017 19:28

Someone is definitely living there, and I think it's two men house sharing, possibly more. You'd think they'd have put their clothes away, and made the beds properly before getting the pics done. Looking at the pics and the clothes etc I don't think there is a woman living there.

I suspect also they were starting to renovate, there is pics with timber and paint and for whatever reason they have decided not to.

MollyHuaCha · 24/03/2017 19:29

It will be gorgeous when it's decorated. I'm surprised the agent didn't suggest a little tidy up before the photos were taken though Grin

Is there an extra zero on that price?

JoJoSM2 · 24/03/2017 19:34

The advert sounds like the ea could only spare about a minute to write it up. The house could be very characterful and he setting is lovely, though.

FlyingDuck · 24/03/2017 19:38

I like that even the 'For Sale' sign is toppling over.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/03/2017 19:46

The floor in front of basin in bathroom looks like it had a patched up hole in it!
I assume it's not the owner who lives there, so they have no interest in tidying the place in for photos.

I do like the way the estate agent has left his car parked poised for a quick getaway

It's a listed building - I don't know if that would limit what you could do in terms of renovation.

amberdillyduck · 24/03/2017 19:53

It isn't in North Yorkshire- it is in Holmfirth.

It is probably an hours drive to the nearest place in North Yorkshire.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 24/03/2017 19:59

Why have they said it's terraced? And why the jeff 22 pictures? They need no more than 6 and an honest description. It just makes the Estate Agents look like utter fools.
