You know the EA is struggling to describe a house when they say "fresh breeze and unpolluted air" hmm

No mention of "needs gutting"

RaisinsAndApple Fri 24-Mar-17 09:49:56

Oh, but it's got great potential! Undoubtedly a money pit with the damp and total renovation needed, but could be amazing.

RoganJosh Fri 24-Mar-17 09:52:34

How have people been living in that? Is it a half finished project?

PhoenixJasmine Fri 24-Mar-17 09:58:04

I actually think it's lovely - and most of the gutting has already been done for you grin but the structure, space, outside aspect and location (schools etc) seem fab - if I had reason to be living in that part of the world it would be very interesting!

It looks liveable in, obviously very scruffy but liveable.

Define 'well presented'

FunSpunge Fri 24-Mar-17 10:03:59

I can't quite make out if it's a mid renovation or if someone actually lives that way confused

Chewbecca Fri 24-Mar-17 10:05:38

It does say please see the photos. I can't believe someone is living in it but they clearly are. The clothes look like they could belong to an office worker.

It looks like it has potential to be a gorgeous house.

Is it really terraced? Looks detached.

TheWoodlander Fri 24-Mar-17 10:07:30

I'm just silently weeping at the price. I live in the SE....

FunSpunge Fri 24-Mar-17 10:13:17

I couldn't imagine living in the SE.. I think the price they want for this is too high

If you think this house is cheap, North Yorkshire is amazingly priced! I wish I could move up there, it's gorgeous!

highinthesky Fri 24-Mar-17 10:21:57

The EA is scraping it with the description. There's a lot of potential though.

I thought North Yorkshire was supposed to be expensive relative to the rest of the country (exc London)? Based on a repeat of Escape to the Country. grin

user1484830599 Fri 24-Mar-17 10:23:37

That is really sad to think someone is living in those conditions.

Bluntness100 Fri 24-Mar-17 10:25:20

I can't believe the agent actually wrote it's "well presented",..😱

However it could be a beautiful house with enough time and money thrown at it.

99percentchocolate Fri 24-Mar-17 10:27:25

Unfortunately people do live in those conditions. Someone very close to me does but refuses to allow us to help improve the house or relocate them. Very sad.

Allthebestnamesareused Fri 24-Mar-17 10:32:42

Fresh breeze with unpolluted air surely means bloody great hole in the roof?

Anyway it has good wifi grin

ThomasHardyPerennial Fri 24-Mar-17 13:34:51

I love that original cast iron range! The full description is rubbish, no room details hmm. I think it is overpriced too, for the condition. What a great space and location though!

Cinderpi Fri 24-Mar-17 19:14:58

I've lived in worse! It's doable once the plumbing is working, and the only way we could afford to get on the housing ladder.

sucue Fri 24-Mar-17 19:22:10

Just grateful someone put the toilet seat down.

Bluntness100 Fri 24-Mar-17 19:28:18

Someone is definitely living there, and I think it's two men house sharing, possibly more. You'd think they'd have put their clothes away, and made the beds properly before getting the pics done. Looking at the pics and the clothes etc I don't think there is a woman living there.

I suspect also they were starting to renovate, there is pics with timber and paint and for whatever reason they have decided not to.

MollyHuaCha Fri 24-Mar-17 19:29:53

It will be gorgeous when it's decorated. I'm surprised the agent didn't suggest a little tidy up before the photos were taken though grin

originalbiglymavis Fri 24-Mar-17 19:31:45

Is there an extra zero on that price?

JoJoSM2 Fri 24-Mar-17 19:34:54

The advert sounds like the ea could only spare about a minute to write it up. The house could be very characterful and he setting is lovely, though.

FlyingDuck Fri 24-Mar-17 19:38:34

I like that even the 'For Sale' sign is toppling over.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys Fri 24-Mar-17 19:46:14

The floor in front of basin in bathroom looks like it had a patched up hole in it!
I assume it's not the owner who lives there, so they have no interest in tidying the place in for photos.

I do like the way the estate agent has left his car parked poised for a quick getaway

ArchNotImpudent Fri 24-Mar-17 19:51:19

It's a listed building - I don't know if that would limit what you could do in terms of renovation.

amberdillyduck Fri 24-Mar-17 19:53:49

It isn't in North Yorkshire- it is in Holmfirth.

It is probably an hours drive to the nearest place in North Yorkshire.
