We've filled up the old one! (maybe someone on a mobile device could add a post with this link though?)

And our news - our sellers do have to be in the country to complete and they will be here on 10th April.... when we will be abroad on holiday!

But it's OK because although we can't pick up the keys, we are going to get the EA to keep them and they can let in the damp proofing man so if he's free (fingers crossed he still is) he can start work that week. He's going to take 2 weeks so then we're looking at moving in just before or after the first May BH.

Hmm I wonder if I can tag a few of the usual suspects
@notanotherpawpatrol
@blackfellpony

Has that worked?

Hello, a newbie here please can I join? We put our house on the market this week, 7 viewings lined up so far but EA informed me that none of them are from Rightmove. In fact no one has enquired from Rightmove yet and wondering if we should be worried about that!
It's all rather nail biting.
Also I feel compelled to keep pestering the estate agent but only spoke to them yesterday afternoon. I wonder if it's overkill to ring every day for updates?

drspouse · 15/03/2017 12:52

Seven! Wow! I'd stay busy tidying up if I were you! And welcome.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 15/03/2017 12:52

I just went to post on the old thread and couldn't work out why I couldn't! Blush
That's amazing drspouce. Just have to sell your property now!!
I'm eating lunch before our viewers come, i really really need it to sell now, i am desperate to get all the baby stuff down. 3.5 weeks to go!!! I need to be prepared 🙈

Notanotherpawpatrol · 15/03/2017 12:54

Seven! Wow!! That's amazing, don't worry about rightmove and I'd leave the ea for now, 7 viewings not from rightmove mean they are clearly working :) it's when the viewings dry up and they stop working you need to get onto them more.
Welcome to the stress

Lilmisskittykat · 15/03/2017 12:58

'welcome to the stress' made me laugh 😂

PartyintheKitchen · 15/03/2017 13:05

Can I join too? We put our house on the market last week and I've had a knot in my stomach thinking about it since.

The house is in London. To be fair it looks amazing as we've had a huge refurb on it and it's now looking like a show home (that's only my opinion). It's empty as we moved abroad just before the refurb. So now we're waiting for news from the EA from across the seas, My nerves are in bits, I think my DH will be sick of me as I keep worrying about it. Fingers crossed we get some viewings soon. Gin

drspouse · 15/03/2017 13:20

I know nota, just to sell ours (ha!)

Anyone else sold with viewings after they have moved out (or selling now under those circumstances)?
DH says he's reluctant to leave furniture as he's worried it won't be insured. We do have spare furniture which could stay, or we could beg/borrow/steal/or even buy some cheap stuff (but it wouldn't be as nice as ours).

Can I join please? Our house is going to be advertised in the next day or so. We already have a viewing lined up for later today and one for Saturday.

Problem is we have two houses to sell - my parents are selling their house and coming to live with us.

It also seems impossible to keep a house tidy enough for viewings with a messy husband, a toddler and a 4 month old, so I hope it sells quickly!

Lilmisskittykat · 15/03/2017 14:20

Drspouse I wish I was in your position where you've been able to just go ahead a buy without having to sell. Though I imagine that's quite a unique position to be in

drspouse · 15/03/2017 14:31

It is related (though not that directly) to both I and DH having bought flats in 1986 for £26K each (we didn't know each other then, were at different stages of our lives, and in different cities/countries - total coincidence).
But having been property owners for ever and a day we have amassed a lot of equity.

Schintzel completely agree. We have reduced the amount of stuff to tidy up by putting loads in a storage facility. I highly recommend it. Are your parents mobile/able enough to help with childcare? If so I would dump the kids on them for a day, rent a van and do a total blitz.

Also if you don't have one at the moment, a temporary cleaner once a week helps a lot. Make it clear they MUST be prepared to tidy up.

And lots of nice baskets/handy see through boxes that can go in cupboards filled with clutter e.g. all our bathroom shelf stuff stays in that on the shelf, then into the cupboard for viewings.

TK Maxx in our area has quite a lot of medium to large storage baskets at the moment - ours were from the kids area but are pale blue/beige so OK in our room for now but will go into DD's room when we move.

Drspouse - great idea re crates/baskets - will definitely be doing that. My parents have the DC quite a lot, and we already have a cleaner, the main issue is volume of stuff! I'm going to try to have a clear out this weekend - will have to be done when we move anyway!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 15/03/2017 17:48

Our viewing went really well. I'm really hoping they come and do a second viewing over the weekend. (They said they wanted to!) Fingers are firmly crossed here!

Blackfellpony · 15/03/2017 20:24

Found you Grin

Our viewers were really interested yesterday. Heard nothing today...similar story to usual HmmGrin

The people we were competing against for the house we wanted have STC so that's dream house officially sold. Never mind there will be others!

It's got to happen for one of us soon!

Glitterpony51 · 16/03/2017 11:23

Can I join in too??
Ours has been on the market about 7 weeks now, 3 viewings, reduced price already and nothing for a few weeks.
EA says market is extremely slow...
Not what he said when getting our business... anyway glad it's not just us although disheartening when so many of you seem to be in desirable areas and it's quiet not much hope for us here in the really rural countryside.

mamaslatts · 16/03/2017 12:45

Hi all
We've had one more viewing, so total of 5 in just under a month. The EA has advised us to 'adjust the price' as we aren't getting enough viewings at this 'price point'. I have asked twice what the reduction should be but they are ignoring that question... what do people think about when you go for a reduction?

The house DH loved has officially sold but we are doing some more viewings Monday. Just need to get someone to view this before DS decapitates any more flowers we bought for the garden..

Notanotherpawpatrol · 16/03/2017 13:22

Mamas, the EA should be helping you with this. If they're not then I'd be questioning why!

Beckyb1 · 16/03/2017 13:51

Found you all!!! 😂

HalleLouja · 16/03/2017 14:12

Hello everyone.

jazzmin · 16/03/2017 18:20

Hello again. 3 weeks, 2 viewings, house back to normal 'lived in' look!

Glitterpony51 · 16/03/2017 18:39

Where are the buyers???
EA has just suggested we reduce the price again
It's all very sad

Can I join you? Put house on market today, 2 viewings booked already! From what the agent has said we should sell quite quickly but as we want to buy within walking distance if the DC's school it may be harder to find something.

AndersArms · 16/03/2017 18:53

Although reading everyone else's posts again I wonder if actually this is strictly accurate from the agent...

Notanotherpawpatrol · 16/03/2017 20:31

Ignore the agents Anders. They're wankers.
