Bespoke kitchen island

Hi,
I just moved into my new house and the kitchen needs to change a bit. But I would like to buy only a big kitchen island and have a bespoke one. So for example I would like the kitchen island in a specific colour, with a stone top in the same color than my current kitchen, with a gas hob on the island to cook and also the possibility to sit around the island to eat. However I cannot find any website which creates bespoke islands. When i browse websites it only comes with the full kitchen and not the island on its own. So do you know a website or a store I could go to and which would "create" my dream kitchen island? Thanks

Islands are made up of units and end panels with a worktop to suit on top. You don't buy an island as such, but any kitchen supplier should be able to help. Do you want to match the rest of the kitchen units? If so, do you know which company supplied them? If you want something truly bespoke then you need a company which makes bespoke kitchens.

You could try DIY Kitchens online - they don't do bespoke but offer a huge variety of unit types and sizes in lots of different styles. They can tailor their standard products within certain parameters. They have a minimum order value of £750, but all their pricing is transparent and there's no mark up to pay for retail shops and salespeople.

OK thanks I ll have a look. I will keep the current kitchen units but I will repaint them most likely in wine red with some dark gray. So wanted an island with same kind of wood unit so i can repaint them in the same way than the rest of the kitchen. It s a lot of work I know :( I don't know who supplied the kitchen unit but can try and ask to the previous homeowners thanks

DIY Kitchens do some bespoke painted ranges where you can specify what colour you want so you could have them supply painted island units and then use the same paint to do the rest of the kitchen yourself.

As wow says - although I think the problem with what you want will be getting the gas supply to the island unit. That would potentially mean digging up the floor / removing whatever is currently covering the floor, potentially removing existing units to get to your gas supply in order that it can run under the units in the island and up to service the hob.

The island is just a collection of kitchen units. You can create anything you want to but, a kitchen island can cost as much as a small kitchen as quite a few units are used in their construction as you can have 4 sides to fill.

Any kitchen supplier will do it, Wickes, whatever. You don't just "buy and island" and pretty much they are all bespoke, as they are comprised of cupboards etc to fit the size you need with a top cut to fit. Just speak to a kitchen supplier and tell them what you want. Pick your units, top etc. And if you want a hob then that too.

You don't have to fill four sides though Paula - it can be just one if you like.

If you have floorboards OP getting a gas feed to the island will be much easier than if the floor is concrete, etc. But, the pipes must be protected if going into concrete as it corrodes copper.

The floor are tiles, so I guess they ll have to break them? I don't have extra tiles unfortunately. Thanks
