Buying bathroom units / furniture online

We are having our bathroom replaced in a couple of months and I am currently searching round for all the bits and pieces. I would like to get a vanity unit and one of those tall slim cupboards. I like the look of stuff like the Chatsworth range from Victorian Plumbing - pic attached. However I am nervous about ordering stuff online. Does anyone have any experience - good and bad - of buying these kind of units? It's not like you can get a sample like tiles hmm Also, how do you colour match?? Thanks for any replies!

We've had a similar conversation with the plumber who's going to be doing our bathroom. He strongly advised us to choose something from one of the local plumbers merchants or even B&Q rather than order online - he said he'd had no end of problems recently with customers supplying stuff they'd bought online and it being damaged, bits missing or just not well-made (hinges not lining up, standard sized traps not fitting in units, wall fixings being glorified screws instead of proper wall supports which he thought wouldn't support units safely.) So I've done all my research on what I like online but I'm going to buy locally from a shop I can stuff back to if it all goes wrong! A little bug more expensive but less hassle, hopefully.

I've bought a whole bathroom from Victoria Plum recently and they've been really helpful, delivery was good, we needed to make some changes to the order and they couldn't have been more helpful. Internet companies are often cheaper because they don't have to have to service loads of showrooms rather than because the quality of the goods aren't as good.

I can understand people wanting to see things first, I was pretty sure of what i wanted but distance selling regulations mean that you can return anything you don't like so as long as you can deal with the hassle of getting them to come and pick them up again I would say it can be worth it.

Same here.

Delivery was on the day they said it would be, and delivery was complete and all items were undamaged.

I had a problem with a tap 2 months after installation - called up customer service and they said send them a vid showing it leaking which I did and a new cartridge was with me in a few days.

My new bathroom looks amazing :-)

how do you colour match

I just ordered the same 'range' sink and toilet and hoped for the best with the bath!

Thanks for the heads up re Victoria Plum. Had a look at their website and like their Camberley stuff smile

Kiroro re colour matching - I meant more how do you manage to match up units with tiles etc if you don't have a colour sample from the units. This is essentially what's putting me off buying units online.
