A couple of weeks back a building inspector came round to do a final inspection of our new extension with our builder. I was at work. Our builder told us we would hear direct about singing off certificate. He is being a bit vague. How long should it take and can I chase the council direct? Thanks

I have had cause to ring my local building control office twice recently. They were lovely and super helpful. They appeared used to dealing with ordinary people with questions. It won't do you any harm to call.

Although not sure they will be singing your certificate. They will probably just write it down
