My application is ready to go to TSB but I have some docs to drop in tomorrow (proof of deposit), so it can't go until Monday.

Plus the funds we had secured to repay some debt prior to completion (it will be a condition of the offer) have fallen through, so we suddenly have another pile of money to find with precious few options. No idea how we'll manage it but I'm not giving up yet.

Oh no, added stress :(

Yes don't give up. If you don't try then you won't know.

Keep us posted and good luck x

I wish I could be encouraging. We've had 2 x 2 hour phone calls with the Nationwide about our mortgage in the past month and they've turned us down! Even though we've been with them for at least 15 years and have maximum equity in our house and don't want to borrow any more money Shock, we are aiming to pay everything off sooner.

I think it's all very difficult and time consuming these days. The banks have been hit by the financial crash and of course PPI.

Try not to stress too much (although I know it is hard!) We recently went through the same thing, and once the valuation was done it took 5 days to receive our offer. They are pretty quick on the whole, although I know the waiting is intolerable!

Nationwide are massive on customer service and it hasn't really been all that long...try tweeting

Nationwide offered us a mortgage 10 months ago, but the seller changed their mind and we had to reapply as it went past the 6 months. We had a higher income and no debts or anything, but they declined with no reason. Nobody could tell us why.
Went to Hsbc and had a mortgage the same day. Very odd, but just our experience with Nationwide... x

Thank you for everyone replies and encouragement.

Nationwide is known to be very fussy. Our broker wanted to go with Halifax but as we currently bank and mortgage with nationwide and they offer very low rate, we thought we will give them a try.

Yes I hate waiting and I am a very impatience person:(

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Have a look at Nationwide for Intermediaries website. It is the website brokers use and gives you an idea of current waiting times.

We got our mortgage with them last year and it was turned around pretty quickly.

Five days, including a weekend. We applied for a mortgage with Nationwide on a Thursday morning, they did the survey on the Monday, woke up to a text on the Tuesday offering us the mortgage.

Hope you hear from them soon Smile

We went direct with nationwide two years ago and I have to say they were excellent in pushing it through. I was really impressed with the advisor and the team.

Nope, but they emailed to say that they need another piece of info ( just something silly to do with my work contract) so I don't suppose we will hear from them until it arrives on Monday.

Fingers crossed for us both though!

We already had a mortgage with them and were applying for a new one when we moved. They took so long. Well two weeks which meant we couldn't exchange when we should have. It was all okay in the end but, goodness they took a long time. We had never defaulted on a payment to them.

I applied for a TSB mortgage on Monday, h Avington had it all agreed in principle (including credit search) the week before.

Haven't heard a thing? This is day 5, WHAT DOES IT MEAN

Hi, welcome to the waiting game.

Have you submitted a full application to TSB?

MummyPigLovesAppleSauce - I believe Nationwide will respond 48 hour after submitting your application.

Good luck all
