Recommendations for sourcing bathroom fixtures and fittings? We are redoing our upstairs bathroom and toilet. Pretty compact. We haven't a huge budget but want it to be fairly decent. Do you think big showroom type places 'bathroom store' or any online places that are good. Also any pearls of wisdom for those that have recently done it. Thanks.

Did ours last year. Ordered everything online from Victoria Plumb. Delivery was very good. Money saved allowed for replastering and new lighting. Plumber who fitted the bathroom said that the fittings were perfectly acceptable and that there isn't a great deal of difference unless you go top end. But not to go dirt cheap.

Mine is happening now, plumber gave recommendations such as 5mm bath preferably with added strength as well, he liked bristan taps and grohe showers. He preferred using his own connectors so did not need to order. Tiles from tile mountain. He provided extractor but had to pay a roofer to provide venting. I used Victoria plum, and soakology and Amazon for shower. All good for delivery.

Victoria plum. Steer clear of B&Q and Homebase. Are you re-tiling or just suite?

We are re-tiling too ☺

We used better bathrooms twice and would use again.

Lovely big job for you. If DIY, give me us a shout for some good tips.

We used Victoria Plum for bath, toilet & shower enclosure - our plumber recommended them. Bought discounted Hansgrohe tap ware off eBay - tiles & taps are really the only thing people notice.

Check to see if you have a bathroom outlet centre nearby - we are near a couple which got us a lovely vanity unit much below RRP. Also, look at Gumtree as many people buy fittings that they later realise don't fit/suit, but can't return.

Bathstore was cheap but also looks cheap. A bit of legwork will get you much better quality for the same price.
