Aqualisa Showers?

Been today looking for a new bathroom. The shower system that was recommended is an Aqualisa digital one. Now I don't know a thing about showers does anyone have one, are they good? Thanks

Yes, they are brilliant. We had one for 7yrs with no problems. We're having one put in our new house when the bathroom is done.

We had one installed last week & we're already regretting it.

The pump is noisy, fair enough you can't use it in a powercut but the option would be nice (!) the switch feels less sturdy than what we had before - It is no comparison to the Matki we had previously.

We have them and overall very good ( powerful showers) there have been a couple of problems but they are very good at coming out and fixing them under warranty ( which is more than a year - I think five years).

Thanks for the replies. The shower in the ensuite at the moment is a Mira, it is horrendous, it only runs for three minutes at a fairly loud noise before it turns to a scream, it's been the same since day one but no one could get to the bottom of it.
The aqualisa we looked at today had two controls, one for inside the shower and one remote. It could be in the bathroom or bedroom, it looked and felt nice but as it's not plumbed in it's impossible to say if it's powerful or noisy.

That's the one we have, OP.

Its a new design/idea from what we were told.

On ours you can press it again to change the water to come from the handheld head as well as the fixed ceiling 'rain' one.

There's a nack to it!

We have the same for the bath & I would never have it again. Very hard to programme the depth & settings, unpredictable way of getting water through the handheld attachment for hair washing. It shouldn't take 13 attempts!!

We're already regretting our purchase

Our remotes are on the inside of the bathroom door, high up out of toddler reach.

The only + side of it is the warm water when you enter. Next time I'd avoid it & tolerate the running cold while waiting for the warm to arrive.

I've read, re-read then read that flipping instruction sheet so many tines now And why the hell am I writing about it at stupid o'clock?! This insomnia has a lot to answer to!

I will call them doesn't help that DH didn't read the instructions before running the bath for the first time which now means the water stops flowing after the first inch of depth has materialised

I'll google their number.

Op, I'm sure you'll love it once the settings are correct. To me it's currently just an over- complicated gadget that doesn't need to be.

Sorry, my last post sounds a bit off. What I mean is that the fitter does loads of bathrooms and is very honest about which makes are good and which less so. He knows the ones to avoid due to the call backs he gets.
DP was at the amount of choice in the showroom. We did find the right tiles in no time thought which was a bonus

I love love love our aqua lisa showers. We first had one at our old house 12 years ago, then upgraded the main bathroom to one.

We have moved house last year and had the bathroom done and no question about it went straight for another.

We have it so you can switch from the rainfall to the hand held/adjustable. We also have the wireless remote so you can turn on from outside the shower - no feeling to see if warm yet as light stops flashing when at required temperature.

I love the power boost. I used to go on holidays and love the luxury of a decent shower. Now I come home to get the best shower I can anywhere!

Sounds good. The one we were shown sounds similar, rainfall can swap to hand held, with remote and I'm sure he said it could be set with different settings for me and DP. So as I like the water hotter I could save a programme for me and one for him. Sounds very posh

We had an Aqualisa Quartz Digital power shower installed almost 5 years ago, it has no remote but lets you know when the temperature is reached. The good things are that the pump is in the loft so it is quiet and the shower is powerful, it has a boost function which is not vastly more powerful but hot water runs out quicker (is your tank big enough?). But we have had repairs under warranty 4 times already and not all elements are 5 years eg the chromed plastic is bubbling and flaking but only 2 years warranty. The biggest worry is that the valve mechanism has been replaced 3 times already and next time it goes it will cost us £350 , the aqualisa engineer himself says that it is a crap design and still unchanged. And for an expensive design far too much of it is visible or chromed grey plastic.

We have a large tank and there's only two of us. It would be going in the loft so hopefully quite up there. I'm really glad you mentioned the warranty as I hadn't asked about that, I'll need to ring tomorrow about something else so I will ask about that then, thanks

nemno. I think they have changed since 5 years ago though. The one we got in Dec 2015 is entirely different shower hose etc and a lot essier to clean. So we have 2 x 12 year okd and 1 x 14 minths okd and have never had to fix any ( although I replaced a shower hose myself very easily £18)

The one we are thinking of getting is a "new" design but how new is anybody's guess. It looks very smart but it needs to be practical

In the spirit of full disclosure, ours didn't have a noisy pump as we had a pressurised system (or something like that) with a mega flow. I'm typing the words but not sure what they mean I do know that a friend who is a bathroom fitter highly recommends Aqua Lisa.
