Awkward lounge shape

I'm really struggling to fit furniture into my lounge, due to its shape and awkward doors. First pic shows basic room shape, 2nd pic shows how furniture is set out at the moment but as the room isn't huge, it feels really cluttered.

For reference - purple = sofas, yellow = table (in bay window but not really enough room for chairs), red = fire, brown = sideboard, silver = radiator.

The wall one sofa is against is the longest straight wall at 190cm, therefore can only fit a 2 seater meaning we need further seating, hence the 2nd sofa currently stuck in the middle of the room and the door opens on to it. Other opening is door in to kitchen. I can't knock walls down, remove doors etc so I think I may be asking for a miracle but does anyone have any idea what I could do please?

Could you put 2 2-seater sofas facing each other in the middle if the room (side on to the fireplace) with the coffee table in between them?

Tv is on wall above fire. I tried the 2 sofas opposite each other but that blocks off the bay which then loses more floor space.

Do you have to have two sofas?
I would have one sofa on the wall where it is, they two small armchairs, one either side of the fire place. With coffee table in the middle

The corner where the sideboard is, would a table fit? I'm wondering if a pedestal style table, maybe round, with benches against the two wall corners and then a chair back to room.

The smaller sofa set back slightly, but not completely into window and second sofa back to long wall opposite fireplace.

This would define the spaces as eating or lounging and minimise lost coridor space. It would also put the table nearer the doors for transporting food etc to it.

Thanks Art, don't have to have 2 sofas I suppose, it's just what I've got at the moment. Ideally I'd like to find a slightly longer sofa than I have now to fill the whole back wall meaning we can properly lie on it, and then I think I could get away with just one arm chair, possibly in the bay? There's only me and 2DDs who usually are upstairs anyway, seating is only an issue when we have guests.

I forgot to say, the kitchen is also tiny so we need to have dining table in the lounge - I was thinking about getting a fold away one but not sure how much hassle they are to be continually putting up and down.

Ooh Flouncing I love the idea of a bench style seating table in the alcove where the sideboard is now. We have had the table there before but getting all of us sat around it was proving difficult - benches may make it easier.

How big is the alcove spaces?

I'm wondering if you can build shelves into 1 (or both) to create more storage?

Have you an IKEA near you? They have great tables for storage solutions. I have a butterfly table with 4 chairs that fit inside it. Opens up very well and takes less than 30 seconds.

That could go where side board is and have sofa in the bay window.

We have an IKEA kalax unit on its side with a thick cushion pad on at the end of our dining table. It doubles as a cosy nook when I've been pushed out of other spaces by noisy DC. Also provides necessary extra small space storage.

Keep table in window if it's main table not a coffe table.
But get a bench seating area around it so it fits in window area. Possibly smaller round table if three of you.

Dresser get rid of and put nice tall armchair in that corner with lamp for reading.

Put in shelves the other side of fireplace in that little nook

Then just one sofa. You will have sofa, one arm chair (Ikea do nice wing back chairs), and the seating bench in window so a fair amount of seating

First alcove is 90cm wide by 48 deep, 2nd is 110 on fire wall into 160 along side wall. Currently we have a tall bookcase in the smaller alcove and although I love the sound of built in cupboards, I can't afford much

The bay isn't wide enough for a sofa to fit in to, I could put along the front but don't want to block off too much space.

I love the sound of a reading corner Art, think that may well be a success. The sideboard takes up a lot of room for what we use it for - a shelf would do the same job! I love the bay seating as well, but again - worried about the cost.

Flouncing is the Kallax sturdy to sit on? I have a small 10 year old and also a dyspraxic 19 year old who can fall off any seating known to man!

Now, can anyone suggest any sofas no more than 190cm wide?? And thanks all

Just measured the Bay Area, its 110 cm opening to 220cm wide by 120 deep. Though obviously a table could come out further. Would that be big enough?

The kallax 4 box Ikea unit is strong enough to sit on. It's 147cm so would fit in your 160cm space. If you look on Pinterest lots of people use them as benches and it's shown on Ikea website. Only £30. Plus if you buy the basic basket they fit under for extra storage for stuff you don't use daily

You could also fit something like this small sofa in the large alcove with small table in front . Only 125cm long.

That is lovely Art, thank you so much for all your help - it's nice having some extra opinions as DDs don't really care. I'm torn now though, I really like the clean lines of the Kallax bench, but love the look of that little sofa. Guess I need to start with picking an overall theme for the room clueless so will study some more Pinterest!

Would something like this work in the bottom left hand corner, with a chair in the alcove? This one is 210cm so not suitable but it gives you the gist. They are not to everyone's taste but it would mean 2 people could lie down! A tub chair is a good alternative to a big armchair when space it at a premium.

Thanks Billy I have looked into those before but they're all too wide. From the googling I've been doing, I think I need a 2.5 seat sofa, just trying to find a cheap decent one

Or look at scandi style sofas as these tend to be v efficient on space

That's lovely Billy but too wide, even at 190 the door in to the kitchen will open on to it.

Sister I've looked at that idea before, but again struggle on width. If I have the longest side of sofa along back wall, it's too wide. If I then turn it round and have longest side of sofa along shorter wall, it goes in to the bay area thereby restricting what I can put there.
