Painter quote query - is this reasonable?

A painter has quoted us to paint some rooms in our house, a 3 bed victorian so high ceilings and fairly large rooms. To paint the living room, hallway (upstairs & downstairs) two double bedrooms and a very small bathroom they have said it will take 4 weeks. A week to do each room and then lastly the hallway and bathroom. I can't believe it will take a month to do this! Does that seem reasonable? Or am I not being realistic?

I have a 3 month old and not looking forward to the disruption this will cause us (currently on mat leave). Feeling totally clueless!Confused

No, that doesn't sound reasonable. Based on painting work we've had done before that sounds like a two week job at the very most. I'd get other quotes.

Thanks purpledaisies I do think it sounds too long. I'm going to look for other quotes.

They either don't want the job or are complete chancers.

We pay 120 per day. High ceilings and a difficult layout meaning the landing is particuarly tricky.

He's done one bedroom, stairs/landing that spans five floors, and a living room, including all woodwork, wallpapering and prep in 5 days.
